Over the last 25 years, we have met our share of mothers caring for children born with congenital heart disease (CHD). Last month we met Olga, a warm, big-hearted mom who adopted Lyosha a few months ago. Lyosha was born with a heart defect and, like many babies born with CHD in underserved areas, was abandoned because his parents and local doctors were afraid his heart condition could not be treated. With timely heart care and Olga's love, Lyosha is thriving. This Mother’s Day, Heart to Heart would like to honor mothers around the world who bravely handle the challenges of CHD – we salute them all! Happy Mother's Day!
