I was introduced to Alex about a year ago through a mutual friend. I had heard about a "stalker photographer" from a couple people and was pretty intrigued. After about a two month process of trying to get her to sit down with me she finally agreed to tell her story. I was pretty blown away. Seeing the world through her eyes has been a unique experience to say the least. Her photos are unreal. Can't say I completely agree with her craft but its very beautiful in its own way. If you'd like to see more of her work go to www.quietshutter.com I shot this on my RED Epic with the CP.2 50 and 28mm. I got to team up again with my good buddy Daniel Petersen for the original score. It's always a pleasure working with someone as talented as him. The following is an extract from the story specially written to accompany this gorgeous cheeky trailer - the full uncut film is 20mim in length and available on my web site. THE ACCOMPANYING STORY... Suddenly I heard the sound of laughter, followed by a loud cracking noise. I stopped dead in my tracks and listened, thinking I might have imagined it. There it was again, a loud slap, this time followed by a low, female groan. The sounds were emanating from Room 812. Gingerly approaching the door, I held my ear to the surface and heard the muffled strains of music within. A third thwack made me jump and the tray fell from under my arm and clattered on the corridor floor. I withdrew from the door, picked up the tray and beat a hasty retreat to the hotel lift...visit my site to read the fill story! I am SO thrilled with the way this film turned out and hope that you will enjoy this short trailer as much as I have creating it. Loves Anna xx

• The Marina Experiment

                from Marina Lutz / Added

'The Marina Experiment' is the result of over 10,000 photographs, super 8 home footage and reel to reel audiotape interrogations that director Marina Lutz's father made of her during her upper class upbringing in 1960s and 1970s Manhattan. A both eerie and infinitely fascinating archive that she herself has now sorted out and reassembled. Her father's transgressive voyeurism is turned against himself, while a courageous self portrait simultaneously grows out of the almost incestuously intimate 'home movies'. The result is a family exposé that can't be shaken off that easily, and which in an intelligent and absolutely unique way raises the question about the right to not be seen - a question that has become even more relevant in the present day. THE MARINA EXPERIMENT (2009, 18 Minutes, original music by Mick Harvey)
