When we were getting ready to move into the new Cascade Bicycling Center, a Cascade member and volunteer suggested that we move by bike. We called on volunteers to make it happen and they responded with enthusiasm! A cargo bike move not only got us into our new space; it also provided a way for members of our community to experience the hauling capabilities of cargo bikes, try out riding with different kinds of trailers and have fun.

The Extra wide extra high bridge over the river and Highway 1, built in the latter part of the 21st century has become Obsolete. Since gas costs $80.00 a gallon, and the streets of Santa Cruz are underwater, nobody uses the freeways and extra wide city streets any more. If only the city planners of 2012 had invested in sustainable transit instead, we could have avoided the wasteful construction projects that caused climate change.

Dragons♞. There is no why So why try to explain For we know We are forces of nature Once unleashed our majesty cannot fall We shall devour all We have been physically restrained for far too long Yet our spirits remain unquenchably strong Doubt if you must For in fear you trust Allowing your uniqueness to rust We’ll not take lessons from thee As you've chosen not to be free While we will embark on a spree Of peaceful conquest, sharing, love and humbly enjoying this world’s beauty We've been tame, patient and confined However, it is now us, who ourselves our paths define And we shall never again bow For we are dragons. An exclusive poem for you all from The Poet. Taken from 'A Wealth Of Memory'. Kehinde Sonola © 2014 http://www.amazon.com/Kehinde-Sonola/e/B00820I5UC

The Santa Cruz 2112: Underwater Tour, produced by People Power and Greenways to School. This video shows the grim fate of the beautiful seaside town of Santa Cruz California. The Santa Cruz City council's lack of action on the Climate Action Plan in 2012 has caused the global temperatures to rise and the ice caps melt. By 2112 downtown Santa Cruz is underwater (not just financially). A host of Santa Cruz local characters from 2012 and 2112 are sending us an urgent and sometimes musical message that the people of Santa Cruz need to act now to save their town and the world.
