The gospel shines most brightly when Christians rejoice in the midst of really painful, even unjust suffering. In this lab, John Piper looks at Hebrews 10 to understand how we cultivate the kind of joy that can endure anything and that frees us to love and serve radically. Galatian 5:7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? 8 This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you. 9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. 10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be. 11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased. 12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.

Barat Ali Batoor was once Afghanistan’s most esteemed photographer working for the United States Embassy in Kabul. But in 2011, all this changed when The Washington Post published his potent photo essay exposing one of Afghanistan’s darkest secrets – the brutal trade in young ‘dancing boys’ for the purposes of entertainment and forced prostitution. Distancing themselves from the ensuing controversy, Batoor was cut loose by his employers with no security. With death threats looming over his head, he allowed himself to be smuggled out of the country into dangerous territory, opening the door to the question of whether these agents serve a purpose in preserving human rights as well. He embarked on a journey that would see him cross three continents, be trafficked over multiple borders, survive a shipwreck in the open seas, become lost in the jungles of Indonesia, escape from imprisonment and spend months living undercover as an illegal immigrant before finally being granted refugee status in Australia. Remarkably, he photographed and filmed his entire journey, creating a stunning record of life spent on the run – in a dangerous world of asylum seekers, people smuggling and cross border trafficking. Through his first-person account, BATOOR retraces and revisits the sites and people from his journey, presenting the harrowing steps many refugees take in their pursuit of better lives.

Radio Irava's interview with Donya Akhavan a young Iranian/American Christian student and Human Rights activist. Audio Link: https://soundcloud.com/radio-irava/de... Link on CNN iReport: http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-1203540 I'm often amazed and impressed by the new Iranian generation outside Iran. I think there's a misperception about the new generation of Iranians outside the country. People may think of them as a generation that wants to have fun all the time and is buried in its cell phone and don't care about anything. My guest Donya Akhavan is a political Science student in US and although she wasn't born in Iran, she loves and respects Iran so much so that she calls herself Iranian. Her parents fled Iran after witnessing the atrocities against Christians after Ayatollah Khomenei took over the People's 1979 Revolution. Donya's family like millions of other Iranians became a refugee over night before arriving to US. Donya has never been in Iran but her activism for a free Iran continues on. http://www.radioirava.com/
