After my throat infection cleared up, I went into my home studio to record new vocals for this classic dance track. There is a picture of President Richard Nixon in the video, but this is not a political video. If you want to talk about politics with me, this is not the place so please do not leave political comments in the comments box. Thank you!

        • The 411 on Enterovirus 68

The numbers are adding up as more people - mostly kids - in more states are affected by Enterovirus 68. “This will spread across the country,” says pediatrician Dr. Joseph Babey. He is part of the medical staff of Lee Memorial Health System. It’s in your best interest to get the 411 on this vexing virus which is sending more children than usual to the hospital with severe respiratory illness. “It usually starts in the nose and the throat, and congestion, and moves down into their bronchial tubes. Children have tiny bronchial tubes and a lot of mucus is produced and phlegm. Once their lungs fill up with that mucous and phlegm, they can have trouble getting air,” Dr. Babey says. Only a small portion of people who contract this virus will experience more than a runny nose and low grade fever. The danger is with the other extreme. It seems to most affect kids with a history of asthma or breathing problems. Parents will notice serious symptoms. “The thing they need to watch for is sounds made in the chest; of wheezing or severe cough and choking and vomiting. The child complaining of chest pain,” says Dr. Babey. Enterovirus 68 is linked to limb weakness and paralysis. The strain isn’t new, but it is rare. Spread through body secretions, the CDC recommends sick people stay home, disinfect frequently touched surfaces, avoid touching the eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands. And as pediatricians suggest with any viral sickness- keep your hands clean. “The best way to prevent it is strict hand washing. Washing the hands with soap and water for at least 15-20 seconds,” says Dr. Anthony Pietroniro. Classic advice for preventing the spread of any number of germs. PUBLIC is a celebration of urban art and creativity that brings to Perth and the Pilbara urban, visual, and digital artists from around the world. Walls and laneways are transformed with street art, projections, installations, and public events. This multi-year program encompasses three components in 2014: Art in the City, Art in the Pilbara, and 100 Hampton Road, each celebrating creativity as a public good. From 5 – 13 April 2014, large-scale urban artworks were developed by some of the world’s best known urban artists. Blank walls were transformed throughout Perth, pop-up spaces created in Wolf Lane, and artists completed residencies on William Street in Northbridge resulting in Dear William, a dedication to William Street. http://www.form.net.au/project/public/ Music 'Perfectly Normal' performed by 'Music You Can Swim To' licensed through through Marmoset Music. Last Breath is an unofficial series of pre-demolition exhibitions. This roofless medical centre episode involves leading urban artists Phlegm, RUN and Christiaan Nagel. "The stairway climbs up and up, undaunted, to the roofless summit where it meets the sky." - Macaulay, Pleasure of Ruins. ------------------------------------------------------- Yet an other of London's intriguing constructions is currently seeing its final light: Blithehale Medical Centre, Bethnal Green. Once one of East-London's prominent medical centres, it's now a decapitated structure in the midst of human destruction. Its disease is uncurable. Before ultimate euthanasia, together with Phlegm, Run and Christiaan Nagel we snuck into the building in an attempt to brighten up its last days. A few days after, a 30-min unauthorised exhibition was held and finished off with a final good-bye. Now, the building and its final beautification will fully perish and on its grounds, yet another materiality will rise. Write to tom@lastbreathproject.co.uk if you want to witness the next Last Breath of a remarkable, soon-to-be-demolished building or if you desire to be one of the next “beautifiers”.
