              • "The throwaway children” - bringing healing to the children on Colombia's streets

                from SGM Lifewords / Added

For more than 40 years Colombia has been ravaged by conflict between outlawed armed groups and drug cartels. Inequality, violence and poverty affects over half the population. Children suffer the most in this destructive cycle and are often exposed to abuse and exploitation. Parents struggling to fend for themselves have very little interest in the fate of their children, raising a generation that have been dubbed “the throwaway children”. This visual overview weaves a poignant track written and performed by Jorge with his experiences working with children-at-risk and the transformation he has seen through the Pavement Project counselling process. Pavement Project is a unique Bible-based counselling process that equips children-at-risk workers around the world to raise children’s self-worth and restore a sense of hope for the future. SGM Lifewords is all about freely sharing the Bible in a one-to-one way. We create Bible resources and digital content, we run Bible programmes with partners, and we pioneer new projects to engage people with the Bible in their own language and culture.
