See Poem by Angela Alaimo O'Donnell GLASNEVIN GRAVEYARD "Mine, O thou lord of life, send my roots rain." --Gerard Manley Hopkins Walking these grounds I nearly hear you in the finch-feather-fall, the summer-clover-clamor. Under rain gray sky, "a soft day," the natives would say, you lie in strange earth poet among the dead and dumb. I wander cinder paths and find you far from the splendor of Parnell’s rock, neat crosses of decent Dubliners. Yet you are not alone, a name engraved on a single stone inscribed with scores of others, a mass of priestly brothers. A few Latin syllables claim your space for eternity. Beneath these grieving yews you’ve taken root. Withered now to ash beyond this brief burning refined past reckoning even your bones sing. About this event: An evening of conversation and poetry with Prof. Angela ALAIMO O’DONNELL, Poet and Associate Director of the Curran Center for American Catholic Studies at Fordham University, and Ms. Concetta PILSNER, English Language Arts Instructor, Cardinal Spellman High School, Bronx, NY Presented by Crossroads Cultural Center, the American Bible Society, and the Curran Center for American Catholic Studies

Anyone who has heard of beer knows about Pilsners. Those who pay closer attention may have heard of their maltier cousin, Helles. But only a rarified few know about the red-headed stepchild of the lager world, Dortmunder Export. It's a shame too, since this drinkable session lager combines the best parts of both the Pils and the Helles styles.

This week we enjoy some delicious New Glarus beer from Wisconsin! Specifically the IIPA from the thumbprint series. Stephen wants to go to New Glarus Land and ride on beer and cheese rides. Matt gets beer poured out of love, but John pours from obligation. We must give a special thanks to Ben Pape (@HOPPERBOLIC) for sending us this beer through our favorite beer mule, David (@beermule) On Master Pairings, Matt is back, once again for a delicious pairing with Great Divide Brewing Co Nomad and Chicken Noodle Soup! It's a great rainy day curled up on the couch pairing. After Master Pairings, we complain about being tired from a several day long goodbye party for our good friend David! So we power nap and power through! Matt wants a sticky mouth .. joke, and John has a sticky mouth ... joke and Stephen is finally offended! __ Support our Sponsors Beachwood BBQ - http://www.beachwoodbbq.com The Full Pint - http://www.thefullpint.com Untappd - http://www.untappd.com __ Follow us online New Brew Thursday – Twitter – twitter.com/newbrewthursday New Brew Thursday – Facebook – facebook.com/newbrewthursday Master Pairings – Twitter – twitter.com/masterpairings Master Pairings – Facebook – facebook.com/masterpairings Stephen – twitter.com/darthweef John – twitter.com/johnholzer Matt – twitter.com/SmallBatchBrew

We also cheers, and say farewell to our fellow island podcasters Two Beer Queers who have decided to put an end to their amazing craft beer show. We pair this beer with a tasty Thai dish called Tom Kha Gai, a spicy coconut dish, and some amazing New York Style Cheesecake. On Master Pairings with Dr. Bill, Stephen joins Dr. Bill for an amazing pairing of a classic German Pilsner from Weltenburger with pretzels and german sausages.
