      from John Hollowell Added 242 3 0

What is the Eucharist? Is Christ really present? Can't we just as easily use Cheetos and Pepsi? Why can't non-Catholics receive the Eucharist? Why can't Catholics receive communion at other places of worship? Why does it still look like bread and wine?

In September 2010 Pope Benedict XVI visited England and Scotland on a four-day Papal visit. More Than Dance took 28 young people to perform at the Hyde Park vigil on the 18th September. The first dance ‘In the Light’ which was early on in the day to a crowd of about 30,000 a big ask of any young people, we pulled the performance section of the event to a close with two dances ‘ How great is our God’ and the ‘Hail Mary’, this was in front of a crowd of over 80.000 people all shouting and clapping and even singing along to the songs, it was great to see the young people from our own diocese sitting in the crowd and the ‘Hail Mary’ was a real prayer and blessing.

              from David R David Added 249 0 0

Pope Benedict XVI has consecrated Antoni Gaudi's unfinished church, the Sagrada Familia, as a basilica in the Spanish city of Barcelona. The Pope sprinkled holy water on the altar before a congregation of more than 6,500 people. Gaudi's greatest work has been under construction for more than a century, and will not be finished before 2026. The current chief architect said he hoped the Pope's visit would provide the boost needed to finish the work. Before leaving for Rome from Barcelona's El Prat airport, Pope Benedict called on Europe's Catholics to renew their faith.
