Produced 2012 by Uncage the Soul Productions Ben Canales, John Waller, Steve Engman, Blake Johnson http://www.uncagethesoul.com To plan your adventure to Portland, visit Travel Portland at http://www.travelportland.com Finding Portland was produced, shot, and edited in 51 days during March and April at the invitation of TEDx Portland, where the video was unveiled to a sell out crowd of 650 and met with a standing ovation. Filmed in Portland and the Columbia Gorge, this time-lapse piece offers a new perspective to the City of Roses. From a Portland Timbers season opening soccer game, to the top of the Fremont Bridge, to an aerial shot of Oneonta Gorge, Finding Portland tells the story of a city and its many faces. Comprised of 308, 829 photographs taken from over 50 unique locations, it took an average of 3.8 hours to make each second of this film. The intent of the project was to place our cameras in unique locations across the city, achieve significant ranges of dynamic camera motion, and pursue cutting edge time-lapse techniques. Behind the scenes video and photos are posted at http://www.uncagethesoul.com/news/finding-portland-timelapse The entire TEDx Portland presentation of Finding Portland by John Waller and Ben Canales will be online in May at http://www.tedxportland.com Many thanks to those who supported us in this project including... • Isenseven - TIMES

      from Vincent Urban Added 171K 3,718 161

"Times" is a self-contained short-clip by Isenseven and at the same time the last part of the upcoming full-length movie "Let's Go Get Lost". As this clip will be edited slightly different in the final movie, we decided to publish this original version online already now. This clip contains a collection of footage we gathered throughout the season and during the summer days in our hometown Munich as well as in Berlin, New York, Tokyo, Bejing, Portland, Barcelona and many other places. We like to thank all of our close friends for a great year 2009 and especially thank those guys for riding their skateboards for us: Conny Mirbach, Christopher Geyer, Jonas Rosenbauer, Michael Von Fintel, Christoph Friedmann, Dennis Gläser, Timo Kavermann, Mack McKelton, Gunes Ozdogan, Marcus Sweeney, Philipp Schuster and John Zelehoski. Filmed by: Felix Urbauer, Alex Schiller, Vincent Urban, Niko Jentsch, Magnus Törnkvist Edited by: Vincent Urban As Munich plays a major role in this clip, we are happy we could use a song from a local band for this project. The song's called "Mindestens In 1000 Jahren" by Frittenbude from the Album "Nachtigall". Support the band and be friends with them on Myspace! (www.myspace.com/frittenbude)

*** https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/stateframe/id638313217?mt=8 - check out Stateframe for the iPhone, it allows you to put a picture behind the shape of any US state!*** Kevin Russ has been a huge inspiration to me since about 2005 when I saw some of his pictures on flickr. Over the years, he has just become such an incredible and focused photographer, ranging from doing portraiture now to landscape photography. He is one of the most humble men you will ever meet and really shows that there is no secret to photography or getting an incredible image. Kevin has been traveling throughout the great American west shooting landscape and wildlife solely with his iPhone 4s and 5. He rarely pulls out his DSLR unless it's for a bear or bear cub where he can't get close. This is just a small peek into his life as a traveling photographer and some stories that come along with it. from Ryan Bush Added 117K 2,755 71

*If you have the means, enjoy this video with headphones* Tanner Goods is a small leather goods manufacturer located in Portland, Oregon. They work hard to manage multiple storefronts and offer a wide range of hand crafted leather accessories. They thrive on their attention to detail and appreciation for top quality products. In the future they plan to expand their product line to include non-leather goods such as eyewear and time pieces, while maintaining their strong roots in simplicity and utilitarian product design. You can purchase their products online at: www.tannergoods.com Or find them in person here: 1308 W. Burnside Portland, Ore. 97209 __________________________________________ This video serves as a documentation of craft that I have long been interested in as a Graphic Designer, and someone who appreciates hand made goods. It is wonderful to see a company that thrives in the "small batch" business model, and I hope they continue to make good things for a long time coming. The process of making something as simple as a belt can remind us of the roots of what this country was founded on: Creativity, Entrepreneurship, and Craftsmanship. Hope you enjoy it! Special Thanks to: Tanner Goods - (Thanks for the interview Sam) Alex Toyoshima - (The guy making the belt) - Without you, this wouldn't have happened, so thanks for being so patient and letting me poke around with my camera. || www.alextoyoshima.com Alex R. Mike Heist has been working in the neon industry in Portland, Oregon for 30 years. He is a master in his craft, and is responsible for the bending of some of the city's most iconic signage. 10 SECONDS is a short film about work and happiness, and shares a bit of Mike's thoughts and insight into the amazing process of hand-made neon signage. The Pressure designed the sign as a component of event branding for the AIGA Portland event "Design and Happiness," a lecture by Stefan Sagmeister during Design Week Portland. We thought that this video would add some depth to the concept, and we hope you enjoy it.
