2029, our planet has suffered the second consequence of climate change. The last hope of humanity lies in the Saturn's largest moon, Titan. Only genetically perfect can be taught for its colonization. Under the supervision of central government is created REGRESSION: a program, through the hippocampus, brings together three individuals with their past lives, the dark tenth century, a death in the 80's glamor and cruelty of Spanish Civil War.

Early 2012, HEYHEYHEY had some time to spare and they felt the need to challenge themselves once again, so they set out to build another one of their chain reaction machines called Melvin. Conveniently built in two old suitcases, Melvin the Mini Machine is a Rube Goldberg machine specifically designed to travel the world. Each time Melvin fully completes a run, he ‘signs’ a postcard and sticks a stamp to it - making it ready to be sent. Like its bigger brother, Melvin the Mini Machine also has an online non-physical side which he uses to connect to the people he meets. To keep things truly mobile Melvin uses a smartphone for his online identity. Postpanic's executive Producer Jules Tervoort approached us with this stunning 3D projection project: For the launch of a new Manpower Group company, Experis, on April, 1st 2012, we created a four minute visual ride through the story of "The Human Age" - the aptly titled primary focus of the new Experis recruitment brand. The cylindric "Gashouder" (a steel gas tank built in 1902 which can extend to a height of 40m) situated in Amsterdam's Westergasfabriek built a stunning historical setting for this ambitious project. Calling upon Experis and Manpower’s core belief in inspiration and creative focus in the workplace of the future, our mission was to create a unique piece of visual art not only to act as a distinctive launch moment for the brand in the Netherlands but also for the enjoyment of art lovers and local residents in the area. Based on the given cylindrical shape of the building we developed a script based on a book that opens up and reveals 12 chapters. These chapters are visual interpretations of very different aspects of human culture, science, economy, art and technology – all leading to the Human Age. This was a great project for us: From the client's site creative freedom was given to achieve something highly ambitious, Postpanic organized the tight production schedule smoothly and supported us, our team bravely designed and animated four minutes within 3 weeks, and composer Guy Amitai at Amsterdam’s Massive Music provided the dramatic soundtrack which accompanied the final visual experience. From a technical point of view this monster of a building required its counterpart in digital measures as well – so we had to design our animations at a resolution of 4k. Four huge beamers were used to project the image on the metallic surface of the tank. 9pm, 1st April 2012, Amsterdam’s Westergasfabriek - the stunning historical setting for an ambitious 3d projection on one of the most distinctive buildings in The Netherlands to help launch new Manpower Group company, Experis. The famous cylinderical shape of the Gashouder (a steel gas tank built in 1902 which can extend to a height of 40m) provided an opportunity for PostPanic to push 3d projection technology even further and create a stunning 4 minute visual ride through the story of ‘The Human Age’ - the aptly titled primary focus of the new Experis recruitment brand. Calling upon Experis and Manpower’s core belief in inspiration and creative focus in the workplace of the future, the brand commissioned Amsterdam-based creative studio, PostPanic to produce a unique piece of visual art not only to act as a distinctive launch moment for the brand in the Netherlands but also for the enjoyment of art lovers and local residents in the area. PostPanic directors and motion graphic specialists, Eat My Dear, took on the challenge of creating the 4 minute projection experience - this their 2nd projection mapping project to date (they also directed PostPanic’s 3d projection in Dubai for washing powder brand, Ariel). Jules Tervoort, Executive Producer at PostPanic, ‘This was a great project for us because Experis ultimately gave us the freedom to achieve something highly ambitious - an abstract and graphic interpretation as a journey through their story of ‘The Human Age’. In addition, we were given this amazing building to use as a canvas and it meant we could really let our imaginations use the building’s cylindrical shape to its full potential.’ Amsterdam’s Massive Music provided the dramatic soundtrack which accompanied the final visual experience. Director: Mischa Rozema Production Co: PostPanic Agency: Sek Grey (Finland) The retro-feel present throughout the commercial, comes from the JAFFA brand itself. On the Finnish market since 1949, the orange drink is still in the top 3 of most popular soft drinks in the country. JAFFA is part of Hartwall which is owned by Heineken International. The internationally awarded 85 year old graphic designer Erik Bruun is best loved for his iconic posters and adverts for Hartwell and his work has been awarded the prestigious Pro Finlandia medal. You could call him a Finnish institution. Not only does PostPanic’s commercial make Bruun’s work come alive but he can be seen for the first time in the flesh, sketching the Jaffa logo. Director Mischa Rozema wanted to create a commercial based on Bruun’s legacy. This time though, Mischa had to base his visual direction on someone else’s graphic aesthetic rather than his own. The result, another trademark visually unique mixed media film, combining live action with 2d/3d animation, motion graphics, stock footage and visual effects. Director Mischa Rozema says he was inspired by the look that Bruun created: “ The story needed to be told by the means of the actual posters. We had to create more 2D landscape to imaginary landscape where we go from a poster to another one. We had to choose the posters that had the most in them landscape and storytelling wise. I was inspired by the simplicity and retro feeling which reminded me of Saul Bass’s work. Bruun’s work has that same contemporary feeling and textures use that makes it real” CREDITS Client: HARTWALL Category Marketing Manager: Leena Koskinen Jaffa Brand Manager: Outi Lahtinen Advertising agency: SEK & GREY Key Account Director: Marja Vattulainen Producer: Elina Estlander Art Director: Ville Granroth Copywriter: Sami Korjus Production service and consulting: Front Desk Oy Producer and Production consultant: Merja Metsävaara-Mildh Production manager: Noora Karhunen 1st Assistant director ( Live shoot ): Janne Launo Accountant: Elisa Lotti Production company: POSTPANIC Director: Mischa Rozema Executive Producer : Jules Tervoort Production coordinator: Elina Suhanko CG Supervisor: Ivor Goldberg 3D Animators: Patrick Chin, Jurrien Boogert, Marti Pujol 2D Graphics & Animation: Erwin van den IJssel, Doma Harkai, Kerstin Hoehne Music & Sound design: MassiveMusic Helsinki shoot: Talent: Erik Bruun DOP: Daniel Lindström Focus puller: Jarkko Liikanen DIT: Toni Panula Grip: Tommi Tikanoja Gaffer: Aki Karppinen Technician: Timo Haapasaari Runner & catering: Hanna Hälikkä Production designer: Antti Nikkinen Set build: Roland Mildh Make up, hair and wardrobe: Iiris Virranta
