    VISUALIZATION PART 2: PREVIS IN HOLLYWOOD: PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE From the 2008 5D Conference in Long Beach Hosted by the ASC/ADG/VES joint previs committee and moderated by co–chair David Morin, this session will follow though from the previous AWN workshop in an open discussion and brainstorm session of current and future visualization practice with some of the leading previs users and creators in the industry. In addition to a dynamic open forum between practitioners and audience, this workshop is the fi rst public discussion of a six–month investigation by the joint committee, who will present their work for the fi rst time: Genesis of the joint ASC-ADG-VES committee The timeline of previs projects Current defi nition of previs and sub-species Vis 2020—the future of visualization 5D Conference Digital technologies are blurring the boundaries between the passive and active experience of visual art, entertainment, environmental design and the built environment. Out of these transformations emerge unique challenges and inspirations for those facing the creative process of world-building and storytelling in narrative media. 5D offers a progressive platform for discourse on the present and future of immersive design, and its impact on all aspects of the creative media space, by engaging creative collaborators working in a broad spectrum of disciplines and media. This unprecedented cultural event is curated for everyone involved in design and storytelling, and the creation of immersive environments, across all mediums.
