As online platforms become more ubiquitous, many are turning to easily-accesible shortcuts rather than learning skills and components used for the web. Text coding relies on a set of skills obtained over time and practice, but with knock-off website builders and online code forums, the time and effort put into constructing these intricate text designs is often marked as elementary.

In class we manipulated examples using 3D models, noise, transform, trig, and oscillation. For this one specifically I decided to use the random target from the previous project and combine it with a 3D model.

In class we manipulated examples using 3D models, noise, transform, trig, and oscillation. For this one specifically I decided to use a controled random (noise) on 3D objects and alowing them to move along with my mouse.

Since the automation of the computer era typefaces were implemented more and more in the digitale screen surface. Until a few years back typefaces were very static when you wrote something with a typeface on a digital screen. Technology gives the designers and typefaces designers new mediums and tools to produce letters as forms. So I thought, why not make a typefaces that’s not always the same? It would be interesting when I as a designer designed the parameters or the handle bars of the so called (generative) typeface and that the end user can controle the final form when using the typeface. For the presentation I designed an app where users can try out the generative typeface.

Made in Processing. Using rotation, the square rotates around the center and is constantly drawing its shape that oddly forms an eight that fades as it reappears when the square rotates again.
