‘Imprevionism’ is a collaborative project of Jacek(JMS) https://vimeo.com/jacek and Ben. Article on Gizmodo: gizmodo.com/5990125/imprevionism-where-classic-art-and-digital-media-collide And on DailyM: http://dailym.net/2013/03/imprevionism/ Jacek: ‘I call this technique Imprevionism. I use program created in processing and sequence of photos from time-lapse. The program is merging up to 30 photos from TL by using small random, clusters. So, it's similar to idea of Impressionism’ Ben: Jacek timelapses looks like paintings with a nice structure of coloured planes or dots. So it was great when he asked me to cooperate. My idea was to build up the video like a painting. I used animated drawings. First the basic lines, and slowly with dots and planes, showing bit by bit the beautiful timelapses Jacek made. At the end you can see the steps in which Jacek build up his images, but then in reverse mode. The Motion Project was a collaboration between a lot of clever creative people working together to create a machine that turns motion into music. The client for the project, Frucor (makers of V energy drink), together with their agency Colenso BBDO, kitted-out a warehouse space for this project to grow in and gathered together a group of talented people from a number of creative fields. http://www.v.co.nz/#the-motion-project We created and designed the live visual spectacle with a music video being produced from the results. We wanted it to be clear that the technology was real and actually being played live. The interface plays a key role in illustrating the idea of the instrument and we designed it to highlight the audio being controlled by the dancer. Design elements like real time tracking and samples being drawn on as they are played all add to authenticity of the performance. The visuals are all created live and the music video is essentially a real document of the night. http://www.assemblyltd.com/ Check out the tech behind the project here: www.custom-logic.com/blog/v-motion-project-the-instrument/ Directors Matt von Trott & Jonny Kofoed Developers Jeff Nusz Paul Sanderson - http://fugitive.co.nz Music Joel Little Ableton James Hayday Dancer Josh Cesan Agency Colenso BBDO Creative Chairman: Nick Worthington Creative Director: Aaron Turk Art Director: Jae Morrison Art Director: Lachlan Palmer-Hubbard Copywriter: Graeme Clark Group Account Director: Tim Ellis Account Director: Samantha Parsons Senior Account Manager: Stefanie Robertson Account Executive: Eileen Cosgrove-Moloney Planner: Andy Mcleish Client Frucor Beverage LTD Marketing Manager: Luke Rive Senior Brand Manager: Cormac Van Den Hoofdakker Production: DOP: Renaud Maire Camera: Clint Rarm, Dan Max Post Production: Editor: Tim Mauger Colourist: Pete Ritchie

Track: Detritus "Haunted (remix by Niveau Zero)" Taken from Detritus's album "Things Gone Wrong" (adn121) , remixed by Niveau Zero originally released by Ad Noiseam http://www.adnoiseam.net In 2010, scientists succeeded in recreating a miniature version of the Big Bang. Within a few years, some of the universe's deepest secrets may be unlocked. Genesis is another self-initiated personal project that I've written, designed and animated single handedly. It's a 3D short film with a story that revolves around a machine that has the power of creating new, miniature universes. By controlling the universe rotation, it can speed up the time and evolution of the miniature worlds, and with the help of a fancy search engine it can pin point and extract terrestrial planets. Well, it's not very scientifically correct by any means.. Or is it..? You might live in a manufactured miniature world.. Anyway, what would mankind do if they possessed the power of creating new worlds? Probably use it for creating some kind of decorative snow globe. Guaranteed gift of the year. Well, it's not all science fiction, I actually got inspired after reading some interesting articles about the European science agency CERN, who designed the world's biggest particle accelerator, the Large Hadron Collider. This accelerator shoot beams around a freezing 27km concrete ring underground near Geneva, smashing atoms together in search of the elusive "God particle" believed present at the Big Bang. Since it began operating at the end of March 2010, CERN engineers and physicists have created billions of miniature versions of the Big Bang, revealing fundamental insights into the nature of the cosmos. Also, at Lancaster University in UK, physicists unraveling the secrets of how to build a universe. In fact, they have already formed one, or something very much like it. This scientific breakthrough lies in the bottom of a chamber no larger than a pinky finger, filled with helium and cooled to 0.0003 degrees Fahrenheit above absolute zero. There's a short "behind the scenes" here: http://www.andreaswannerstedt.se/motion/genesis/breakdown/

Stop motion form and colour, using light painting techniques. Lighting: Kim Pimmel Sound: Tron Legacy trailers I've been interested in taking my Light Study photo series and evolving them into motion pieces. I shot a lot of footage for a VJ gig for FITC San Francisco. So I edited together those stop motion sequences, mashed up some audio from the Tron Legacy trailers, and out came Light Drive. The video is stop motion, so every frame is an individually shot photograph. Each photograph is a long exposure photo, with exposures reaching up to 20 seconds in some cases. To control the lights, I used an Arduino controlled via bluetooth to drive a stepper motor. The stepper motor controls the movements of the lights remotely from Processing. The light sources include cold cathode case lights, EL wire, lasers and more. Customized computer code and electronic circuit design imbues Pinokio with the ability to be aware of its environment, especially people, and to expresses a dynamic range of behaviour. As it negotiates its world, we the human audience can see that Lamp shares many traits possessed by animals, generating a range of emotional sympathies. In the end we may ask: Is Pinokio only a lamp? – a useful machine? Perhaps we should put the book aside and meet a new friend. Processing, Arduino, and OpenCV. What are Tags?

                      Tags

Tags are keywords that describe videos. For example, a video of your Hawaiian vacation might be tagged with "Hawaii," "beach," "surfing," and "sunburn."
