'Forgive yourself, we all do it… embrace the distractions, mess around, mess up… procrastinate. You never know what it could lead to.' This film observes a group of creatives (a designer couple, stylists and a dancer) all experiencing the dreaded creative-block. Via abstract scenarios and visual metaphors we reveal their various methods of procrastination and how indulging in them eventually leads to inspiration.

This was the first animation I had done after a very long dry spell. It was also what solidified my decision in going back to doing what I love, which is telling stories through animation. I made this animation to help get me into the Digital Media Design program at Red River in hopes it would make my portfolio stand out, and I think it definitely helped. The story is supposed to be a look into an alternate reality, where I had tried applying for the Digital Media Design program a few years earlier, before I had matured (slightly). Its very completion is proof of my triumph over procrastination and overall change in work ethic. I feel as though many people can relate to this, as procrastination goes hand in hand with creativity. While I believe I'm a stronger animator now then I was when I made this, I definitely feel it has it's place in showing an ability to tell a story and make you smile. Written, recorded and animated in 3 painful weeks. Songs Audience - The House On The Hill Andrea Bocelli - Por ti Volare Mountain Mocha Kilimanjaro - Don't Touch, Just Watch Me! How much time have you got? by Andrew Warnes Hear a lot about time don’t we? I was talking to a friend the other day who has just bought a rather up-market European sports car. He doesn’t say how much he paid, but I can surmise it would by over $80,000. This is most irregular for this friend because is is very careful with his money preferring to live the quiet life. He also said how he and his girlfriend hop in the car (not the sports car) and drive to Sydney for the weekend and hang out there. He said there’s no time left. What got this friend out of his fog? A mutual friend died a couple of months ago. This friend found out he had cancer and 3 months later he was dead. Are you getting the message………. No, you’re not going to die. Sitting around doing nothing is as good as death though. Just consider how quickly the year is progressing, we’re racing through it aren’t we. Now consider how much you got done last week and when I say ‘got done’ I mean ‘got done’ for YOU. I have a number of reasons to organise my Bali retreats. The retreat will help people though their decision making overwhelm, their relationship bind and while working on these, they will reach a place of inner happiness. That’s one reason……. Another is, I know it’s the right thing to do…….. The biggest reason for me is connected to the previous reasons and it’s that I must do it NOW. I can’t procrastinate on this. There is no time left and I have other things to do as well (stay tuned for them). So get up, switch off that TV, out of that comfy chair, stop worrying about your work, children, partner and others who may judge you and go an do something. NOW. #time #psychic #Andrew-Warnes #Bali-retreat
