In an effort to establish new platforms for public art and performance, the multimedia duo SWEATSHOPPE has developed a new interactive technology that enables them to explore the relationship between video, mark making and architecture. Dubbed "video painting", this technology allows them to essentially "paint" video onto any surface. Shooting in Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan, the duo spent weeks documenting their work in urban settings to create "The Landing" the first in a series of episodes that showcases their work as artist, technologist and performers. This video shows 4 full uncut extra clips form the landing. ...if you liked this, check out the award winning feature film: INTO THE MIND AVAILABLE on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/movie/into-the-mind/id711353038?ign-mpt=uo%3D2 DVD/BluRay Orders and Tour Info: www.intothemindmovie.com Follow us: facebook.com/sherpascinema Watch the Into the Mind Teaser: https://vimeo.com/54348266 Welcome into the mind of JP Auclair, the athlete and co-director of Sherpas Cinema's viral "JP Auclair Street Segment (from All.I.Can.)" - https://vimeo.com/32863936 Perhaps JP fell asleep on that "Uphill" Bus, and had something of a nightmare. Now he's charging down midnight streets, chased by a spotlight: the gaze of the dreamer. As if in the gutters of the mind, he is surrounded by symbols of the dream world, fears and memories that come in the form of projections. When JP encounters a challenging obstacle, he is outstaged by a younger and more capable athlete. Enter Tom Wallisch, one of the worlds most prolific freestyle skiers and an Olympic hopeful for Sochi 2014. Though the chase now seems to be between Tom and JP, at the end of the segment we meet the dreamer themselves, the spotlight that has been following them. The dreamer hurtles past JP and Tom, towards a potentially fatal life decision. Watch the feature film to see what happens next... The JP Auclair Street Segment (from INTO THE MIND) communicates on a different level of cinematic expression. Each image has meaning, and each sequence triggers emotions, just as a dream does. Though not always easy to interpret or articulate, the segment, like the film, harbours a philosophy of human kind. What drives us to overcome challenge? How do we justify risk? What forces are at the core of a skiing/snowboarding addiction? Join JP Auclair, Tom Wallisch and Sherpas Cinema as they explore how the mind confronts challenges, and how we are ultimately led up the path to self-actualization. As Buddha once said, “The mind is everything. What you think you become.” Into The Mind is about becoming.
