The Meadow Sprites – puppet walkabout act Charming, cheeky & thoroughly engaging these magical creatures have flown in from the meadow to explore the human world. Watch them as they fly & flit about, spreading summer’s warmth & tales of their woodland habitat. Now you see them, now you don’t! These characters will bewitch & beguile your audience. The Meadow Sprites is a strolling/walkabout street theatre show consisting of 2 puppeteer/performers operating 2 bunraku-style puppets, (the puppeteers are visible, veiled, & are behind the puppets animating their movements, giving them voice). The Sprites are beautifully constructed puppets with exquisite attention to detail. Each puppet stands approx. 3ft tall & is costumed in glorious shimmering greens & golds that are illuminated with led lights integrated into the costumes, (perfect for daytime & evening events alike; festivals and parades). The show is a strolling visual spectacle involving spoken interactions with the audience/public & accompanied by a magical ‘summer meadow soundtrack’.

Although the wife was born without eyes, she is happy. The husband tries to fashion her a pair of eyes so that he can share his world with her but neither magic, technology or Shamanism are of use. Ultimately, he decides to sacrifice one of his own eyes for her. The woman accepts tentatively at first but soon starts to revel in her newly discovered perspective. One sleepless night, stunned by her own reflection in the mirror, she decides to steal the other eye – to be whole for once, even if only for a moment? ________________________________ CREDITS: "wHole" directed by Robert Banning and Verena Klinger produced by Nuremberg Tech / Georg Simon Ohm Technical Institute of Nuremberg art direction by Cam Tu Nguyen and Benjamin Vogel written by Verena Klinger storyboard: Robert Banning character design: Alina Filenberg and Cam Tu Nguyen model making: Verena Klinger and Laura Staab prop & set construction: Zeina Azouqa, Alina Filenberg, Cam Tu Nguyen and Benjamin Vogel camera & lighting: Robert Banning animation: Verena Klinger, Alina Filenberg, Cam Tu Nguyen and Laura Staab compositing & editing: Robert Banning sound & music: Zeina Azouqa additional sound: Steve Wühr ________________________________ FESTIVALS: - Film Screening in 'Cinéma Olympia' at the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival 2015: Next Generation Short Tiger 2015 by German Films - Winner of the Eyes & Ears of Europe Junior Highlights Award 2015 - Winner BDFA Gold Medal - FiSH Filmfestival Rostock - Winner Audience Award - FiSH Filmfestival Rostock - Winner Silver Medal - 27.
