    The Otago Mountainbike Orienteering Carnival organised by the Peninsula and Plains Orienteering Club will take place from 7 to 15 January 2015. The long distance race will take place in the hills around Alexandra, also using part of the Otago Rail Trail. More than 100 MTBO-ers from New Zealand and Australia will take part.       Lynchburg, Virginia is a city that is well over 250 years old. Its original roots were big industry. Some of the old brick factory buildings still stand today. The James River Heritage Trail is a rail-trail that runs mostly on the western part of the city through the rocky and mountainous area. We ride on all 4 sections of this rail-trail on a hot and humid Sunday morning.

        • The Weiser River Trail October Trek

          The second annual, fully-supported bicycling trek of the 85 mile long Weiser River Trail was wonderful! Registration was full. Several riders struggled to keep their tires full. Everyone helped with repairs, and the wheels kept rolling. Friends of the Weiser River Trail volunteers, and the communities along the Weiser River host this fundraiser to raise funds and to bring attention to the unique free-flowing beauty of this corridor.             On August 26, 2010, RTC's Urban Pathways Initiative hosted The Secrets to Gardens on Urban Pathways, a webinar presented by Jesse Kurtz-Nicholl of Johns Hopkins University's Center for a Livable Future. He was joined by Urban Tilth executive director Doria Robinson and Park Guthrie of Wildcat Farms to provide some expertise and answer questions for those interested in starting and maintaining gardens along trails in urban areas.
