Paddleboarding and Kayaking Rainbow Springs State Park in March 2014 After a gloomy winter, the weather in Florida finally let up and gave us some sunshine for a warm weekend in March 2014. Since there were no surfable waves anywhere, we headed up to Rainbow Springs State Park in Dunnellon, FL for a weekend of paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming, and camping. 7 friends + 2 birthdays + 4 paddleboards + 1 kayak = one great weekend

No edits, just a clip here of the West Coast Bluegrass Boys performing this nice old fiddle tune. This was at the 2013 Cracker Days Weekend at Rainbow Springs State Park in Florida. I have lots more footage and photos, so may edit and post some more later. I was glad to happen upon this group, initially rehearsing by their cars, and again in this makeshift performance space. The lighting and acoustics of this space are actually better for filming than the main stage which is back-lit. This location also reveals a bit more of the lovely scenery of the park and headwaters (springs) of the river, which will be evident in other videos to come.

Saturday night Larry and I went to the Rainbow Springs State Park to enjoy the Christmas displays that are decorated and sponsored by volunteers. What a terrific display and an enjoyment to see Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive on the pontoon boat which comes up the Rainbow River to the Springs. It was really dark so we didn't take many photos. Larry had his camera set incorrectly and it was so dark he didn't realize it until too late so he ended up deleting most of his pictures. :(
