a Fausch family home movie I'm calling this post "The perfect storm" because with David and Laura's film we were able to bring together three of the things we love to do most when we shoot weddings. The first part was TRAVEL! Raleigh, North Carolina in September of last year was a welcome break from the summer heat which was still stubbornly clinging to the Florida panhandle. The second part was interviews. I'm a firm believer that interviews don't have to be cheesy and I'd like to think that here at Diva they are a big piece of what sets us apart from other wedding filmmakers. If interviews are done right they can add a tremendous amount to your film. The third part was Super 8mm film. Hi my name is Joanna, and I am a Super 8mm junkie. Because of this perfect storm we decide it was time to publish a little more than a sneak peek and show y'all an actual opening to one of our films. Hope you love it as much as we do! If you are a wedding filmmaker and are interested in learning more about conducting great interviews or filming with Super 8mm, check out my blog posts on both subjects for the In[Focus] "What you need to know" series.

*For slower connections, turn HD off and pause to let video fully load.* Brandy and Nick's wedding will always be one we will never forget. Along with being able to film for a great couple and a great family, and not only were we able to get up close and personal with a new Rolls Royce Phantom (wow!), but Jess and I filmed this wedding on our 6 year anniversary! Mr. & Mrs. Lythgoe went above and beyond for to allow us to enjoy this beautiful evening as well. The Ceremony was held in Downtown Raleigh at The Church of the Good Shepherd and the Reception was at Brier Creek Country Club. A fabulous team of Pro's surrounded the day led by Christobal from Azul Photography and the always awesome DJ Randy Pulley. The flowers were provided by Brides-and-Bouquets and Cake by Sweet Memories. One item that is overlooked at many wedding receptions is the lighting, but Nick and Brandy did not let this happen. They brought in Total Production Services which provided amazing lighting for all the events at the Reception. Not only did this create and dramatic effect for the guests, it also made their wedding video that much better! Brandy and Nick, thank you for allowing us to capture your day on the anniversary of ours!
