directed by OhMaryMary Giana Factory is Loui Foo, Lisbet Fritze and Sofie Johanne. The girls record their music in an old factory building in Copenhagen, where they gave themselves the name Giana Factory in August 2008. After months of toiling in the studio and on the road, they are ready to let people into their world of dark and gloomy love. The first step in that process was to release their first EP, Bloody Game, which saw light October 12th. The girls mixed the EP with the notable electronic producer Thomas Barfod, with whom they have been working to create a balance between pop and avant-garde, male and female energy, the organic and the industrial, & the past and the future. In 2009 - before having any releases to their credit - Giana Factory toured Scandinavia, Germany and all around Denmark, playing shows at SPOT Festival and Roskilde Festival, as well as supporting Glasvegas on tour. They have received stellar reviews in the Danish press and have been noticed as one of the most promising new Danish acts of 2009.

Five bands were commissioned to write five songs based on five different colors. Five directors then shot music videos of each song/color. The result is Sound of Color. Here, the Raveonettes take on the color(s) Black and White. Their stripped down rock and roll sound is the perfect counterpoint to the dark and beautiful vision of director and award winning designer, Chris Do.

What do black and white sound like? To promote their colorful spring and summer collections, Gap enlisted Chris Do and the Blind team to create a video for Danish post-punk duo Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo, better known as The Raveonettes. With only three weeks to conceive and complete the project, the team executed an edgy and elegant exploration of the contradictory forces that black and white represent. ‘Black and White’ utilizes light and shadow to convey the opposing themes of the piece, including love/hate, life/death, young/old, daydream/nightmare, and ugliness/beauty. The narrative unfolds through an innovative mix of shadow puppetry and animation, as two-dimensional characters come alive in a colorless world, underscored by The Raveonettes’ haunting vocals. A majority of the elements used in the video were shot in-camera, and puppeteers’ hands and rigging are often left in the shots to create a more spontaneous and organic aesthetic. The piece retains its whimsy through unexpected visuals, references to the beloved Danish fairy tales of Sune’s youth, and a richly textured physical and emotional landscape that can only be fully experienced after multiple viewings.
