A little story about love & adventure. This project is not the best technical achievement for sure but I´m pretty happy with the final result. I realized that true inspiration comes from great experiences whether are good or not and great experiences are a consequence from things we love. There is a whole universe for you to be discovered and explored. Beautiful music from one of the best and most eclectic 2003 albums "Neveroddoreven" by one of my all time favourites: "I monster" get this album here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/neveroddoreven/id250400094 http://www.amazon.com/Neveroddoreven-I-Monster/dp/B000293NI0 This project was done during early 2013 for a school iniciative, this wasn´t or isn´t intended to be commercialized in anyway. Music copyrights belongs to their original owners. TO KOW MORE ABOUT THIS PROJECT CHECK MY WEBSITE: http://theblackdynasty.com/portfolio/arlt/

This conceptual video is a corporate collaborative research project initiated by Bonnier R&D into the experience of reading magazines on handheld digital devices. It illustrates one possible vision for digital magazines in the near future, presented by our design partners at BERG. The concept aims to capture the essence of magazine reading, which people have been enjoying for decades: an engaging and unique reading experience in which high-quality writing and stunning imagery build up immersive stories. The concept uses the power of digital media to create a rich and meaningful experience, while maintaining the relaxed and curated features of printed magazines. It has been designed for a world in which interactivity, abundant information and unlimited options could be perceived as intrusive and overwhelming. The purpose of publishing this concept video is first and foremost to spark a discussion around the digital reading experience in general, and digital reading platforms in particular. Thus, we would be more than happy to hear what you have to say regarding the concept and ideas expressed in the video: the magazine reading experience, digital browsing, text versus images, as well as hear about your own digital reading experiences and thoughts. We are all ears. This short film tells a disappointing year in the life of a book. Though they might often be our most treasured possessions, it is remarkable how easily books can be neglected, mistreated and sometimes even lost.

A student documentary project completed in April 2012. Note: Having received recurring criticism regarding my poor audio editing skills, I hope to be lucky enough to find someone to salvage as much of it as possible when I revisit this project at a later date. Thank you to everyone who has continued to share this film despite it being difficult to listen to. Interviewees in order of appearance: Joanne Saul, Type Books (http://typebooks.ca/) Stephen Fowler, Monkey's Paw Bookshop (http://monkeyspaw.com/) Stan Bevington, Coach House Books (http://www.chbooks.com/) Brian Morgan, The Walrus Magazine (http://walrusmagazine.com/) Don Taylor, Don Taylor Bookbinding (www.dontaylorbookbinder.com) Michael Torosian, Lumiere Press (www.lumierepress.com) Akemi Nishidera, KOZO Studio Gallery (http://kozostudio.blogspot.com) George Walker, Biting Dog Press & OCADU (http://www3.sympatico.ca/george.walker/) Special thanks to: Craig Black, for letting me peruse Don Black Linecasting (www.donblack.ca/) & Paul, for allowing me to film at Eliot's Bookshop. And a big thank you to my capstone professor, Grahame Lynch, who was my mentor and advisor through the whole process. All music licensed through http://www.audionetwork.com/ This documentary is a humble exploration of the world of print, as it scratches the surface of its future. I consider this a work in progress. It is built upon interviews with individuals who are active in the Toronto print community and questions whether or not they expect to see the disappearance of the physical book within our lifetime. The act of reading a “tangible tome” has evolved, devolved, and changed many times over, especially in recent years. I hope for the film to stir thought and elicit discussion about the immersive reading experience and the lost craft of the book arts, from the people who are still passionate about reading on paper as well as those who are not. Please feel free to leave a comment below or email me directly at epiloguedoc@gmail.com. I would love to hear from you!
