"City of ruins", the world's first digital reconstruction of a city destroyed during the Second World War, will be presented in the Warsaw Rising Museum from 1st August. The production of the film was entrusted to Platige Image. For 2 years, over 30-people team of graphic artists worked on the film. The film is over-five-minutes’ long simulation of the flight of a Liberator plane over the destroyed Warsaw of 1945. The image suggestively conveys the horror and the scale of destruction of the capital city after the Second World War. If you have not seen it with your own eyes, isolated photos from the time of the war will not convey it. It is only the film that truly reveals what Warsaw looked like just after the war had ended and from what kind of ruins it was raised, Jan Ołdakowski, the Director of the Warsaw Rising Museum. encourages the visitors to come to the Museum and watch the film.

      • Richard Brown TV Show – Revisiting Lynching and our southern ways

Lynching is very much a part of our history. Fritz Brundage, a professor at UNC Chapel Hill, published a book with much needed historical context for this painful past. There is evidence of over 4,500 black men who were lynched between 1860 to 1930. On this show we talk about this sad and shameful history and why such violent acts occurred. We then reflect on how this past has shaped our world today. Growing up white and a native of Virginia, Fritz was unaware of such acts. My own formative years were also in the south but I knew there were unspoken rules that should not be crossed. Join this show as we talk about how lynching is still a part of our society on this Richard Brown Show.

The project focuses on one of the most prestigious and oldest casino in Las Vegas, The Sands, which has been "the place to be" in Vegas from 1952 to its implosion in 1996. Starting from the available archive material, The Sands has been virtually rebuilt in order to entertain visitors of an online museum by giving them the chance to spend a whole day in The Sands and to discover the stories and the characters behind what we have called the Las Vegas Golden Music Age, the period around the sixties when stars like Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack, Elvis Presley and Liberace treaded the Vegas boards. On day at The Sands can be accessed online at the following address: http://virtualgraphicslab.polito.it/odts

Colline Academie is a school in Leogane, co-founded by the founder of Colline Foundation. The school collapsed in th...e earthquake. Currently the school operates out of a UNICEF tent and makeshift classrooms. We are working tirelessly to rebuild and bring quality education to the children, whether it is in a school building or not. We hope to see you in Haiti with us on one of our trips. There is plenty to do, and a lot of ways you can get involved. www.collinefoundation.org
