          • NAB 2011 - FV light LED light panels with inexpensive remote control.

There were lots of LED lights on show at NAB 2011, but this one stood out from the crowd. Like competing lights the FV Light LED is a square panel which comes in various versions with either single or bi-colour options but what is eye catching is the option to add an inexpensive wireless multi channel remote control system. FV Light claims the add on controller will cost around $200 when it is available. It comprises a handheld controller and a receiver unit which attaches to the back of the light fixture. If you have more lights you simply buy more of the receivers and you can control each separately from the same controller. Video by Seppe Van Grieken and Johnnie Behiri. Testing the 2nd build of the EriKam: New lighter carbon fibre frame, New RC transmitter / receiver, New video transmitter, Goggles and some Software improvements. Had to tune the control system as the weight and dynamics of this one are different to the origial frame, first flight was very shaky. Seems to be okay now but drifting backwards a little sometimes. The video quality is not great as I seem to be getting significant vibration in the camera mount, will need to fix this before next test. Also the camera did not seem to be mounted directly forward for each flight. In the raw footage I can hear an intermittent rattling sound, maybe one of the props need to be balanced, could be contributing to it drifting backwards at times. Will need to do more testing soon.
