Is Rep. Paul Ryan's Budget Proposal a political manifesto or as President Obama characterized it, a "Stinkburger"? Paul Ryan has laid down the first Republican gauntlet on the 2015 budget and he's done so by proposing and increase in defense spending. That spending is paid for by cutting other nondefense programs popular with democrats like food stamps and health insurance for the poor. All budgets are political documents and the Ryan and White House Plans are no exception. The lines in the sand have been drawn in both proposals, higher taxes versus austere levels of spending for non defense programs. Of course neither side is talking about the real elephant in the room of growing deficits -- entitlement spending, but that's a discussion for another day. #SettleUp Rep. Ryan's Budget plan today on Bloomberg Government.
