Israel is about a Promise to Abraham by our Almighty Father and God. Jacob Blesses the Sons of Israel |Remnant Preparedness 01-08-13 | Show ID#rp-010813-Israel-he-lived2 Jacob now proceeds to bless Ephraim over Manasseh in which the "seed of Ephraim shall become a Multitude of nations"; here we find the gentiles included. We then follow Jacob as he blesses speaks prophetically over all his sons, which now make up Israel. Gen 48:17 And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head. 18 And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head. 19 And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations. 20 And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh. We thus have Jacob the Patriarch dying and going to be with his Fathers, but he will leave a blessing, a prophecy, and a heritage that came out of the covenant with Abraham. Thus Jacob the man, the Patriarch, and progenitor will die. But Israel, the Prince with God is a blessing, a fulfillment of the covenant with Abraham and Israel will live on. Israel is not about mere Hebrews, which are called Jews today. Israel is about a Promise to Abraham by our Almighty Father and God. Israel is about the heritage and blessing the covenant seed being a multitude of nations. Among this are the gentiles, who would flow through the line of Ephraim. Joseph Destiny Part2 and he drew near | ID# wf-121812-joseph2 Don't miss this exciting part 2 of our Joseph series; which is of our Patriarchal teachings. Many lessons to learn, this is more than mere history; it is truth for us today. This week Part 2; and Jacob "came near to him" here is VaYigash! We continue to follow Joseph and his brethren in this part 2. The famine is hard in the land, Joseph is governor and his brethren have not yet found out who he is! Then Judah came near unto him, and said, Oh my lord, let thy servant, I pray thee, speak a word in my lord's ears, and let not thine anger burn against thy servant: for thou art even as Pharaoh. Gen 44:18 My lord asked his servants, saying, Have ye a father, or a brother? Gen 44:19 The famine has caused hardship for all people and Jacobs’s clan is no different with the exception of the working of the Lord God on their behalf. Jacob, now known as Israel is a Prince. He has "power with both God and man." Here we continue to see the hand of the Lord in his dealing with entire world, both Jacob's clan and Egypt through Joseph. The past of the brothers won't go away and in this final segment we find the brothers coming to final terms with what they did with Joseph. Moreover, they find out that all things were by the hand of the Lord. It is through Israel’s own jealousies and hatred of Joseph which God used this to save the group from extinction. Only the Lord could take a prisoner and make him Pharaoh of Egypt. Many would see Joseph as this, a ruler, a governor overall Egypt and only the Pharaoh would be greater by throne only. There is much to be learned from this story including how governments and people react to the issues of hardships, famine, economic disaster, and an early form of Martial law. It is here where Joseph uses skills that the Lord gave him so he could save the people from extinction and along with them a small band of people from Canaan known as Israel. Joseph at the end of is Part one of this favorite series. We began with Joseph in our Jacob series which is the final portion of focus on Jacob and the beginning of the Joseph experience. Rising up will be a 'savior' so to speak for the children of Israel. This all begins with Jacob, his clan and Joseph; who will fulfill this role of ‘savior’. All of it is by Jehovah plan and his hand. He uses Joseph. It is here at Joseph's early age he told his brothers and his parents of the dreams he dreamed. For this Jacob would ponder it and keep what Joseph said although he may not have understood it. On the other hand the brothers would be jealous and allow hate and envy to do Joseph harm. It is this harm which led to the selling of Joseph for silver that would be the beginning of a journey for Joseph. A journey preparing him for the most important and powerful role any person would have. In Joseph part one we use the phrase "at the end of" which is 'Miketz.' This phrase comes from the first verse of Gen 41; which says "Now it happened "at the end of" two full years that Pharaoh had a dream. We had followed Joseph being sold in the last Jacob series, which is the intro for this series of Joseph. Now as we enter into Part one, we find Joseph being in prison for two full years after he interpreted dreams for Pharaohs household chief butler and baker. After successfully interpreting for these two and asking the chief butler to remember him; Joseph continued in prison for two full years; faithfully serving his God where he was. Now join us as we enter into Joseph Part 1. ► Miketz: "at the end of" ►Torah: Gen 41:1-44:17 ► Haftarah[prophets]: 1 Kings 3:15-4:1 ► New Testament: 1 Cor 2:1-5 ► Pharaoh Dreams a first Dream And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river. Gen 41:1 And, behold, there came up out of the river seven well favoured kine and fatfleshed; and they fed in a meadow. Gen 41:2 And, behold, seven other kine came up after them out of the river, ill favoured and leanfleshed; and stood by the other kine upon the brink of the river. Gen 41:3 And the ill favoured and leanfleshed kine did eat up the seven well favoured and fat kine. So Pharaoh awoke. Jacob Destiny he settled | ID# ww-120712 Begins our Joseph series, don't miss this! Jacob Destiny: “Jacob dwelt in the Land.” Joseph follows the Destiny set by him at birth while the rest of his family live life, settled in the Land. While life is as normal as it can be for Jacob and his group, the brothers plot to rid themselves of the dreamer. In the end, even with Reuben trying to intervene, Joseph ends up sold into slavery. Reuben joins with his brothers in the lie about Joseph and the stage becomes set for this great true story of Israel. When these brothers plotted evil against Joseph, the Lord used it for the purpose of saving Israel. As life goes on, the little clan gets used to not having Joseph. Yet Jacob, refusing to be consoled mourns and brings life to a day to day rememberance of what happened to Joseph. Even Jacob doesn't understand why! Here we find the purposes of God to do what he promised Abraham finding fulfillment in Jacobs family. Even as life does go on we find the Lord blessing Joseph in Egypt. Joseph does not carry bitterness or why me into this. He is a slave, ye he is blessed. He has favor and learns that although his family is nowhere near, the Lord is teaching him. It is an education course meant for Joseph who someday will be the most powerful man on earth. As this purpose draws Joseph into many aspects of life, God never forsakes him and Joseph is kept and learns to trust the Lord. Joseph is favored by Jacob above all his brethren Joseph divine destiny and dreams The Dreamer cometh; plots against Joseph The Righteous sold for twenty pieces of Silver Joseph is gone and Reuben returns to the pit Jacob refused to be comforted; joseph is following his destiny, life goes on for the clan Judah's Sons, Tamar his daughter in law, Levirate Marriages Judah fulfills the Levirate Marriage unknowingly Tarmar is accused of Harlotry Joseph in Egypt and the LORD was with Joseph In the midst of blessing, temptation and trouble comes to Joseph Joseph in following the LORD is thrown in Prison, but the Lord is with him Joseph the dreamer interprets dreams for the Butler and Baker of the Pharoah Joseph: Make mention of me unto Pharaoh and bring me out of this house Joseph follows the Destiny set by him at birth while the rest of his family live life, settled in the Land. Genesis 49:1-33 And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days. 2 Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father. 3 Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power: 4 Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father's bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch. 5 Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations. 6 O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall. 7 Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel. 8 Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee. 9 Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up? 10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. 11 Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass's colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes: 12 His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk. 13 Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for an haven of ships; and his border shall be unto Zidon. 14 Issachar is a strong ass couching down between two burdens: 15 And he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute. 16 Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. 17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward. 18 I have waited for thy salvation, O LORD. 19 Gad, a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last. 20 Out of Asher his bread shall be fat, and he shall yield royal dainties.

Waite Bible For Today Baptist Church 900 Park Avenue Collingswood, NJ 08108 www.BibleForToday.org 856-854-4747 Genesis 42:1-38 Now when Jacob saw that there was corn in Egypt, Jacob said unto his sons, Why do ye look one upon another? 2 And he said, Behold, I have heard that there is corn in Egypt: get you down thither, and buy for us from thence; that we may live, and not die. 3 And Joseph's ten brethren went down to buy corn in Egypt. 4 But Benjamin, Joseph's brother, Jacob sent not with his brethren; for he said, Lest peradventure mischief befall him. 5 And the sons of Israel came to buy corn among those that came: for the famine was in the land of Canaan. 6 And Joseph was the governor over the land, and he it was that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph's brethren came, and bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth. 7 And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange unto them, and spake roughly unto them; and he said unto them, Whence come ye? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food. 8 And Joseph knew his brethren, but they knew not him. 9 And Joseph remembered the dreams which he dreamed of them, and said unto them, Ye are spies; to see the nakedness of the land ye are come. 10 And they said unto him, Nay, my lord, but to buy food are thy servants come. 11 We are all one man's sons; we are true men, thy servants are no spies. 12 And he said unto them, Nay, but to see the nakedness of the land ye are come. 13 And they said, Thy servants are twelve brethren, the sons of one man in the land of Canaan; and, behold, the youngest is this day with our father, and one is not. 14 And Joseph said unto them, That is it that I spake unto you, saying, Ye are spies: 15 Hereby ye shall be proved: By the life of Pharaoh ye shall not go forth hence, except your youngest brother come hither. 16 Send one of you, and let him fetch your brother, and ye shall be kept in prison, that your words may be proved, whether there be any truth in you: or else by the life of Pharaoh surely ye are spies. 17 And he put them all together into ward three days. 18 And Joseph said unto them the third day, This do, and live; for I fear God: 19 If ye be true men, let one of your brethren be bound in the house of your prison: go ye, carry corn for the famine of your houses: 20 But bring your youngest brother unto me; so shall your words be verified, and ye shall not die. And they did so. 21 And they said one to another, We are verily guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the anguish of his soul, when he besought us, and we would not hear; therefore is this distress come upon us. 22 And Reuben answered them, saying, Spake I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against the child; and ye would not hear? therefore, behold, also his blood is required. 23 And they knew not that Joseph understood them; for he spake unto them by an interpreter. 24 And he turned himself about from them, and wept; and returned to them again, and communed with them, and took from them Simeon, and bound him before their eyes. 25 Then Joseph commanded to fill their sacks with corn, and to restore every man's money into his sack, and to give them provision for the way: and thus did he unto them. 26 And they laded their asses with the corn, and departed thence. 27 And as one of them opened his sack to give his ass provender in the inn, he espied his money; for, behold, it was in his sack's mouth. 28 And he said unto his brethren, My money is restored; and, lo, it is even in my sack: and their heart failed them, and they were afraid, saying one to another, What is this that God hath done unto us? 29 And they came unto Jacob their father unto the land of Canaan, and told him all that befell unto them; saying, 30 The man, who is the lord of the land, spake roughly to us, and took us for spies of the country. 31 And we said unto him, We are true men; we are no spies: 32 We be twelve brethren, sons of our father; one is not, and the youngest is this day with our father in the land of Canaan. 33 And the man, the lord of the country, said unto us, Hereby shall I know that ye are true men; leave one of your brethren here with me, and take food for the famine of your households, and be gone: 34 And bring your youngest brother unto me: then shall I know that ye are no spies, but that ye are true men: so will I deliver you your brother, and ye shall traffick in the land. 35 And it came to pass as they emptied their sacks, that, behold, every man's bundle of money was in his sack: and when both they and their father saw the bundles of money, they were afraid.
