                A drive around Roosevelt Park while getting lessons surrounding the economic struggles in Detroit, MI. A arm of Ponyride is working on the revitalization of the park by planting trees cleaning it up. The vision of the rebuild is to construct a skatepark, amphitheater, and plaza to activate the park for the surrounding community. The video clip was shot March 2012.

                  Meeting Start Time: 3:04 PM Deana Rhodeside, Director of Rhodeside & Harwell, Inc. gave a 23 minute presentation on her firm's vision for improvements along the Hull Street corridor in south Richmond and Chesterfield County. The plan called for creating more green spaces, developing housing, additional landscaping, and adding more sidewalks and bicycle pathways. A key feature of the plan was the development of four themed "urban centers," including "Town & Family Entertainment Center" at Warwick Rd., "Design/Health+Wellness Center" at Chippenham Parkway at the Richmond/Chesterfield city limit, "Multi-Cultural Market Center" at Turner Road in Chesterfield, and "Live+Learn Center" at Walmsley Boulevard in Chesterfield. Dr. Rhodeside's presentation was followed by roughly 10 minutes of questions and comments from Council members.

                      After years at its zenith in the late 70s and early 80s, the brand made famous by its stylish print advertising was largely neglected. The brand went from featuring celebrities like Cybill Shepard, Christie Brinkley, Cheryl Tiegs and Kim Alexis to featuring “on sale” price tags, and the luster quickly faded. Enter McGowan Crain. A complete marketing makeover was underway, from package design to print advertising and promotions. Gift packs and co-pack promotions were used to engage channel partners and drive sales. A new Black Velvet lady was introduced for sales meetings, advertising and promotions. Event marketing engaged the target audience, leveraging the brand’s “smooth” nature in any situation. People took notice. The contemporary iteration of the brand appealed to the newer generation of spirits drinkers. The brand regained its swagger, jumping to the #2 position on the Canadian Whisky charts. By the end of 2005, the brand was selling over 2 million cases.
