"Through Grand Eyes" is a documentary that showcases the life, the challenges and the revitalization of Grand Avenue. Grand Avenue, Route 60, is an aging piece of americana and was named after its being the grand entrance from California into Arizona. However, once the 1-17 was built and on-street parking was taken away in the 1970s, traffic was diverted from Grand and the communities that remained were left to deal with the aftermath. Historic Grand Avenue near downtown Phoenix has found itself in a state of transition and rebirth from the drugs, prostitution, decay and gentrification that has worked against it.
