          • Robin Taylor - Fountain Gallery Artist

            from Nathan Fitch Added 470 0 1

            After a successful career in theatre, Robin found a new creative outlet in sculpting and painting. Her theatrical background and life experiences serve as inspiration for her work, much of which expresses her frustration at being a hard-of-hearing person navigating hearing, hard-of-hearing, and deaf realities. She has worked in a variety of sculpting mediums, including bronze, steel, wire mesh, acrylic and clay, and in each she pays meticulous attention to surface, contour, and texture. Her style seems to spring from the form she seeks to convey and uniquely suits its subject matter. Robin has exhibited regularly in group and solo shows at galleries around the U.S. Her piece Two Worlds was awarded 2nd Place in the Second Annual Juried De’VIA Competition and Exhibit, and her work was displayed in the National Touring Exhibition of Deaf Culture Art. Robin was the subject of a profile in Mann About Town magazine. The Final Bow, Robin's five-foot-tall, 600-pound bronze and copper sculpture, is currently on view at Fountain House. Fountain Gallery presented Robin’s work at the 2013 Outsider Art Fair.

                  from Respectful Revolution Added 135 1 0

                  Robin Taylor is a city lady who had always dreamed of becoming a farmer, and Dick Espenscheid is a life-long organic farmer with a solid reputation in Southeastern Montana. In 2012 however, a young man who had been working on the vegetables side of Dick’s farm left unexpectedly, leaving Dick unable to cope on his own. The farmer was already considering abandoning his vegetable production when Robin stepped forward and said she would do anything in her power to keep it going. Relentless, she gathered a group of dedicated women and students from the area and together they learned the job, worked long hours and found markets for the produce. One year later, Dick’s vegetable production is almost back to what it was previously. Dick and Robin are now running a partnership as fruitful as it was at first unlikely. {Bridger, MT 59014}
