I made the rounds with my camera slider in Midtown all throughout December in hopes of capturing the sort of merry melancholy that I always feel this time of year in NYC -- the contrast between all the upbeat holiday hoopla you can find around any given corner with the bittersweet introspection of having survived another 365 days in this crazy town. Rockefeller Center, New York Visited on a beautiful day on the day of my trip back to Europe. Just added today a filmish look with Magic Bullet colour correction. Gives more of a movie look and finally fits better with the music.

There is no moment, every moment is gone, every moment no longer exists. Time steals that from us. What happens now is what we envy later. I experimented with color and also decided to experiment with trying to create the anamorphic look… without an anamorphic lens. Also experimented with the Dethatched Lens method Written/ Directed/ Filmed/ Edited by Justin Ho Executive Producer John Gallagher Music by: Sparta Philharmonic “What Is Left” Holy Holy Vine (featuring Gregory Bortnichak) “Arizona Scratch” Starring: Ryan O’Callaghan Caitlyn Sponheimer ACs: Evan Cohen Barbara Vasconez Filmed with the Canon 5D mk II Lenses: Carl Zeiss 50mm f1.4 ZF-Nikon F Nikon 50mm f1.4

A certain time of year -- when the summer is long gone and the last few leaves of autumn have been swept off the sidewalk. When the sun sets at 4pm and it's dark all the time. When the tourists flock in, and the transplants fly out, back from whenst they came, if only for a brief, fleeting holiday. Nostalgia seems to flood every storefront and bleeds out into the Midtown air, forcing people to ignore the inevitable long and dark winter ahead. This is Christmas in New York. One year ago today(2-15-2008) I took a trip to New York City to meet up with some friends from www.threadless.com Spent three nights at an East Village apartment that was watched over by a cageless bunny named Sir Tenderloin. The final night I crashed at Andyg's Astoria bachelor pad. In this video you'll chronologically see our adventures all over the city with such highlights as: Midnight Till Death @ Cake Shop, a Smiths/Morrissey party @ Sway, McSorley's Old Ale House, the Subway, Central Park, etc... It was an awesome trip. Time lapse shot from Rockefeller center in NYC, a.k.a the Top of the Rock... Shot with a Nikon D300, one picture every 5 sec. I really wanted to make this longer but it got so cold i couldn't stand it anymore. Look forward to go back and redo it, better dressed and on a day with tons of more clouds!
