http://www.onbeing.org/program/spiritual-boundaries-modern-turkey-fr-alberto-ambrosio-and-metropolitan-elpidophoros Istanbul, Turkey - June 14, 2012 Krista Tippett speaks with Fr. Alberto Ambrosio. He's an Italian-born, Dominican friar who has lived in Istanbul for the last 15 years. He's steeped in the contemplative tradition of Christianity and in Sufism, the mystical tradition of Islam, which the poet Rumi inspired in what is now the land of Turkey. He is an emerging teacher about Islam within Roman Catholicism. From him we learn about the "art" of living as a religious other and with religious others. The journey he's lived in Istanbul for most of his adulthood (and he is only 40) is fascinating and unique. And yet he has wisdom — practical and spiritual — for all of us in the world we inhabit now.

The fourth annual pilgrimage by the Latin Mass Society to the ancient English shrine of Walsingham took place over three days in August 2013. Around ninety people took part in the 55-mile walk, with Solemn High Mass in the Extraordinary Form each day, and traditional Catholic devotions along the way. There was also plenty of time to strike up new friendships and acquaintances.

A shot at a video response to this question received on Tumblr (fathershane.com): "Hi Father Shane! I was just wondering, I know a lot of us Catholic/pro-life people on here get a ton of hate in our ask boxes, so I'm sure you're no exception. How do you deal with the hate? What do you do?"

                  • The Sunday Law

                    from Brent Whinfield Added 156 1 2

http://AdventMessage.com - The national Sunday Law persecution is about to be unleashed. Are you ready? Did you know that there are American Sunday Laws ready to be enforced? Some states in the U.S have had Sunday Laws for over a hundred years. Emperor Constantine way back in the year 321 A.D said, "Pass a Sunday law. Force everyone to cease work and honor Sunday." "Let all the judges and town people, and the occupation of all trades rest on the venerable day of the sun" Edict of March 7, 321 A.D. Corpus Juris Civilis Cod., lib. 3, tit. 12, Lex. 3. When the great warning of Revelation 14:9,10 against receiving the mark of the beast has finished its work, and all have made up their minds, probation closes. God's people have received the great outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Soon the national Sunday law will be here. It will soon be unlawful for us to buy and sell. In the end, we will surely face a death decree. Men, women, and children from all walks of life will be fleeing for their lives and hiding in the most desolate areas, or, if caught, cast into jails to await the penalty. The war, strife, and terrible calamities of nature will be blamed on them. Like their Savior, and millions of martyrs before them, they'll be rejected by loved ones, mocked, and looked upon as the "poor fools who have brought all this trouble on us."
