UPDATE: Rosco finally got some songs up on Itunes. If you're interested in hearing more of his music, search his album: Rosco Wuestewald "The Secrets Of Marindahl" The song in this video was written and performed by an old friend of mine, Rosco Wuestewald. He has found himself in NY city for the time being, after traveling around Europe. During his travels he had written many songs and this was one of them. He laid this down in one take referring to lyrics he had scribbled down in a notebook. After recording this session, I immediately knew i wanted to put a video together and this is what i came up with. - shot with the 7d - sound recorded with H4N Zoom/internal mic only - used the steadicam pilot - used the Canon 1D mark IV for one shot

On the road, somewhere in Illinois, or maybe it was Ohio. Anyway, it was somewhere between the last place we had to be, and the next place we were going. We stopped to film in the streets of this sleepy town, thinking none of the couple locals we had seen would care or mind. Quite to the contrary, someone called the cops (2:11), another person threw a tomato (6:45ish), and other folks gathered at their windows and on a nearby bench to listen.

Somewhere on the outskirts of Chicago we woke up to a broken down band vehicle. Roll starting it down an alley we found a hole in the wall garage that offered to fix us up on the spot, and after swapping stories about Mexico over ice cream pops, and reminiscing with grandpa about his days following the harvests across the states, we wandered around the corner, following the faint sound of James Brown to a red door set back in a corrugated tin wall, and the reminder that family is everywhere... This is a live acoustic recording with a mixture of stage performance of Onward, Etc., filmed in Charlotte, NC at Tremont Music Hall on 04/08/14. Rosco Wuestewald, the lead singer of the band, reached out to me through Facebook and told me they were coming through Charlotte and asked if I wanted to come hang out. I was very surprised because we've never met but I have been following Rosco's music for four years; ever since I saw this video by Gnarly Bay on vimeo: https://vimeo.com/8701445 As adventurous as I am, I jumped at the opportunity and drove out to Charlotte with camera in hand and captured literally everything I could with the time I had. I had a blast getting to spend what little time I had with them. The whole band are really great guys and I look forward to meeting up with them and working with them again in the future. In order to come back, you must leave. to leave, you must pack, a suitcase, overflowing, with fear, and with doubt. More importantly, with humor, and an openness, to see, to hear, to feel, and to change. To move, forwards, and backwards, to weave, and to stumble, and forever move Onward, etc. I got a call from an old friend, and picked him up somewhere on the outskirts of Portland. We headed East, slowly, un surely, sleeping in parking lots, and on beer stained carpets. It was for the most part, about music, and friends, and understanding a bit more about various things.
