Based on a true legend of the famous unsolved code. The film contains 16 hidden messages that hold clues to the characters' secrets. Eight are fairly easy requiring only a close eye. Six are moderately difficult using various encryption methods. Two are extremely difficult requiring a genius mind to decrypt. Melvin the Magical Mixed Media Machine (or just Melvin the Machine) can be described as a Rube Goldberg machine with a twist. Besides doing what Rube Goldberg's do best - performing a simple task as inefficiently as possible, often in the form of a chain reaction - Melvin has an identity. Actually, the only purpose of this machine is promoting its own identity. Melvin takes pictures and makes video's of his audience which he instantly uploads to his website, facebook and twitter account. Besides that he makes his own merchandise. All of this within 4 minutes of craziness which you just have to witness yourself. www.melvinthemachine.com Concept & art direction: HEYHEYHEY | Designteam De Ploeg: HEYHEYHEY, Frank Winnubst, Bas van Hout, Bart Bekker, Jeroen Hezemans, Wouter Corvers, Bram de Vries, Dick Lafeber | Directed & produced by: HEYHEYHEY | Steadicam operator: Joost van Poppel | Focuspuller: Adriaan van de Polder | Boom operator: Andre Philips | Sound mixed by: Bram Meindersma | Editing by: Sander van der Aa | Music: Woody & Paul | Sponsors: MU, The Cre8ion.Lab, De Ploeg, Municipality of Eindhoven.

We're happy to present our second-in-a-row project with our friends at MTV Brasil. This time, we were invited to bring our touch to a serious subject, as the elections in Brazil are just a few weeks away. "You get what you give": we started out from this obvious yet crucial message, and explored Brazil's electronic voting to create a Rube-Goldberg-meets-arcade machine in which the initial input – a reckless vote – triggers a chain reaction of events that ultimately affects the voter himself. And of course, we couldn't help giving a dystopian feel to it. :) Aesthetically, dark tones and lots of angles were pivotal in achieving the mood we were aiming for, coupled with a remarkable analog texture obtained through intricate image processing. In the movement front, basic 2D motion and good old hackery allowed us to accomplish a rich and fluid animation. Robust machinery sounds – evolving like a daunting beat – added depth and brought life to the final piece.  It was deeply rewarding to be able to explore this theme and deliver such an important advice to the rousing MTV audience. Thanks for watching. Vote wisely. And don't let the machine take you down.

Pathology: A Movie About Snowboarding and Humans. Bryan Fox and Austin Smith partnered with storyteller Liam Gallagher to document a season of their experiences and showcase their slice of snowboarding. Collaborating with fellow boarders Tim Eddy, Curtis Ciszek, Shaun McKay, Alex Yoder, Rube Goldberg, Rip Zinger and more. These intrepid friends created a movie that provides apt examples of why collectively, we will all do whatever it takes to be able to strap in at the top of a line and make rolling arcs downhill. From powder turns, to steep backcountry lines, to a whole segment filled just with half-buried snowmobiles, every shot in Pathology is a blatant reminder of why we snowboard.

Prologue and creative director Simon Clowes design and direct this Rube Goldberg-esque title sequence for CBS' Elementary, a contemporary update of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. Portraying the unorthodox way in which Holmes solves the many mysteries he is faced with, the sequence takes us on a playful yet intricate journey into his world. Set in New York City, the series stars Jonny Lee Miller as sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Watson. This is an image movie of a Shochu, "Shiro" by Takahashi shuzo. http://cheers-system.jp/ When we say "Cheer!", the happiness is born between two people. And it spreads to others like a chain reaction and grows bigger and bigger. We hope the Japanese Shochu "SHIRO" can bring people bit closer and happy by making them "Cheers!". If you feel like to say "Cheers!" with friends even a little after watching this movie, we are pleasure to hear so.

A short (partly frustrating) animation demonstrating the power of Motion Boutiques Newton plugin. My aim was to create a Rube Goldberg style machine using no keyframes whatsoever. This is what I came up with.
