An excerpt from the video by Gabriele Grotto documenting the day "Tempi moderni" at Centro Stabile di Cultura, San Vito di Leguzzano, that shows part of my live setting with Rumentarium. The setup included bassanjola (a bit masked due to mic placement). A thanks is due to Gabriele and to Roberto Dani, that organized the meeting.

In the "Rumentario autoedule" installation the Rumentarium electro-mechanical ensemble, made up of 24 acoustic generators, is coupled with audio analysis capabilities. Two mics capture the surrounding soundscape. Retrieved pitch and loudness profiles are used to drive the orchestra. As the soundscape around is mostly (even if not only) made up of the same rumentarium, the latter reacts to itself. Installed at Conservatorio G. Verdi, Como, for Elettrosensi 2012 on 19/01/2012. Video shootings by Davide Bellardita (thanks!).

        • Live writing with Rumentarium

The rumentarium is an electromechanical ensemble I created. It uses four arduinos microcontrollers and it is programmed via SuperCollider. Here I'm controlling the ensemble by means of the computer keyboard. In particular, I'm exploring writing patterns through motor memory as source of structured, redundant information. This video is included in the DVD dedicated to live coding in the Computer Music Journal (Winter 2011, no. 4). http://www.fonurgia.unito.it/andrea/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/vanderaalle/sets/72157622912157862//
