1. Russian Doll peripheral streak animation

To make this animation I took 630 photos, one every 10 seconds, of a Russian Doll (see photo) as it slowly rotated 360° on a turntable. A javascript program was then used to extract the first row (parallel to the rotation movement, cutting across the doll) from each of the 630 photos, and then stack them sequentially into a new streak image. Then every second row was copied and stacked together, and then every third and so on, making many new streak images. These new images were then made into this movie as an image sequence. The slight curve in the shape is due to the doll not quite centred on the turntable, and exposure changes are due to my camera's inconsistent aperture opening. One can also see noticeable vertical lines which indicate where the camera failed to fire due to ignoring the signal from my Pclix intervalometer. As usual, the downloadable movie looks best.
