We made a trip to the south-end of Okinawa to visit the Okinawan Peace Memorial Park on a windy Monday morning. This gorgeous area is perched upon shear cliffs, with both Pacific and China seas crashing against the rock. The park memorializes those lost in the largest battle of the Pacific theater during WWII and the thousands lost, with specific focus on the civilian Okinawan population that suffered losses far greater than Japan and the US. Shot with a Nikon D800 and monopod.

Visited Shuri Castle, a gorgeous example of Ryukyuan "gusuku" style arcitechture, during the Harvest Moon "mid-autumn festival". In addition to the beautiful views of the castle itself, we were able to witness centuries-old dances, preserved and passed down from generation to generation. As a special treat - the castle was illuminated as night fell over the city. The castle was almost completely obliterated during the Battle of Okinawa during WWII and has since been rebuilt from drawings, photographs and local memory. An amazing feat, helping to preserve the Ryukyuan culture, history and pride for future generations. Shot with a Nikon D800 and a monopod.

My wife and I had a fantastic trip out to Toguchi Beach just south of Yomitan, Okinawa for our first attempt at paragliding. We had this great opportunity through the Discover Okinawa tours and had an absolute blast. Shot hand-held with an entry-level Panasonic HDC-HS60 with a few a GoPro clips here and there.

A great day trip to the untamed north end of Okinawa, Japan. Gorgeous scenery and fascinating history make any trip to the Nago area well worth it. Shot entirely hand-held with an entry-level Panasonic HDC-HS60. I've only ever used this camera for short family videos, never for anything this intense and it shows in a few spots - but it sure beats hand-holding my D800. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the results of this little camera and will definitely find a place to use it in the future.

Chimdon means feel excited or being bubbling. It sounds similar to the word Chindon which is street musician who parade for the advertisement purpose wearing colorful costume. We call ourselves super entertainment group because we not only our music is unique but also we PLAY on the stage. Our music has the essence of Okinawan pops, Japanese pops and also Asian pops.
