Early 2013, we had a little ride with our Landrover once again. A shorter trip this time, we tried to discover most of Moroccos versatile landscapes in just 3 weeks, from the Coast to the forest regions of the Middle Atlas, from the hectic Medinas of Fés and Marrakech to the high mountain ranges of the High Atlas, and finally to the dunes of the Sahara Desert. Big thanks go out to Sigma Technologies (http://www.sigmatechno.com), a local production company that invited us and provided great assistance and all our equipment. Enjoy! 23-year-old Englishman Tom Allen is all set for a successful career, but he finds himself persisted by the question of our time: isn’t there more to life than this? Leaving it all behind, Tom sets off on the ultimate quest for freedom. For the next 12,000 miles, with neither maps nor guidebooks, Tom films the unfolding of his dream. But the journey takes an unlikely detour when he falls in love with an Iranian-Armenian girl. Filmed over four years with cinematic ambition, Janapar — named after the Armenian word for journey — is an honest and life-affirming tale of finding what you’re looking for when you least expect it. Watch the film at http://janapar.com/watch.

For the past fifteen years George has been working on a somewhat obsessive project to photograph all of the world's hyper arid regions. The idea came to him when he started flying his motorized paraglider over the Sahara in the late 90s, and has taken him to 27 countries plus Antarctica. What he found on this oddyssey was a collection of co-evolved landscapes, like a disparate family, with each desert having unique variations on the common dry-land features of sand dunes, salt lakes, and wind erosion. He also discovered the highly developed strategies that allow man, vegetation, and wildlife to endure on the outer limits of survival. www.georgesteinmetz.com
