    • Ross School Students Aboard Stony Brook University Research Vessel

      from Ross Institute Added

Ross upper school students studying marine science joined Stony Brook University's School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences' Chris Paparo aboard the RV Peconic to examine the marine life of Shinnecock Bay. The group visited two different field stations where they evaluated water and bottom samples, measuring salinity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, turbidity and sediment type. They also collected flora and fauna in each location which were temporarily transferred to an on-board touch tank, allowing students to examine the organisms. Guided by Ross marine science instructor Dr. Jack Szczepanski, the students then developed hypotheses for the differences they observed between the two locations. http://ross.org http://rossinstitute.org Ross Institute / Ross School East Hampton, NY Music: Butterbox "Em Transito" http://freemusicarchive.org/music/Butterbox/
