Rick and I Fish O'Neill Forebay hoping the Bad Karma surrounding the Super Bowl might grant us a great day on the forebay. But not so. Only three fish today. Rick who is 75 years old, is starting to cast that Shooting Head with authority, but need a little help with the "Angry" strip. The fish we cleaned today were eating sculpin!

In this video, it shows me and my parents travel quite a long ways from the Bay Area down to Lemoore, CA. Sorry, just ignore my parents' conversations or just whenever they talk. It was a lovely Saturday. We passed through many places and farmlands and towns while on the way. First off, we took 101 S and reached Gilroy, CA. Then we went eastward on 152, heading to Los Banos. Nice scenery along the way and also saw the San Felipe Lake and also we saw a cool looking rock formation that appeared to be on a peak of a hill. Then as we arrived in the Los Banos region, we saw the San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area. It appeared that the reservoir water level rose a bit, due to the recent strong rain storms. Then this is where the long stretch of our jouney began: Interstate 5! We took Interstate 5 South, headed to Los Angeles. While on this road, we saw miles and miles of California's Central Valley, ranging from farmlands, distant small towns, and even a place where they keep a great amount of cattle, such as cows. After a long 60+ miles on Interstate 5, we stopped by at Harris Rance along 198 West Dorris Ave to take a break and get a bite to eat. It was our first time eating in the restaurant here at Harris Ranch. They had an awesome Caesar salad with croutons that were filled with flavor! I also got my favorite: BBQ Baby Back Ribs! Then afterwards, it was passed 3pm now and we continued on 198 towards Lemoore, CA. Now we were really in the middle of nowhere, especially at 8:15-8:20 in the video! This was also when we really needed the GPS navigation device since we were now on unfamiliar territories. We got a little lost and missed our exit but luckily our GPS got us back on track. Wow, our car's windshield was littered with bugs due to the long drive through the farmlands on Interestate 5. Then at last, we finally reached our destination at around 4pm at my auntie's newly opened bakery in Lemoore, CA. Then as it was time to go home, we managed to see a nice sunset viewed from the middle of Central California, perhaps in Lemoore, CA, as we were on the road. San Francisco: 182 miles! Hehe, watch the video guys and sit back and enjoy the ride! :) Footage taken on Saturday, April 17, 2010.

June 29, 2013 I cant seem to get a reason why in not a drought year we have the lowest water levels in history in the lake. I smell conspiracy.

Today I grabbed a half day of fishing on a windless San Luis Forebay morning. What a great day--37 fish in the boat in three hours. Most were dinks but the average fish was around 18 inches with the biggest about 22 inches. Tried to catch them on topwater in the morning but no joy. Fishing those small flies casting to the weedbeds in the channel--I lucked out and found a bunch of them! Fishing 10 feet of water.
