This project has been an ongoing process for about 6 months. There was a lot of trial and error involved, and I spent many sleepless nights in many different unexpected places. Creating this film has taught me about patience, and what it really takes to achieve the shot that you dream about in your head. I realized through the process that the gear isn't as important as the passion you put within your work. This short video is called EXISTENCE. The video is a statement not only about time and progression, but also a statement about the world we have created for ourselves. The basis of the video contrasts the two extremes of life itself: the urban metropolis, and the beauty outside the city. I love to stargaze. Watching the milky-way float across the sky is one of the most therapeutic experiences I have ever felt. If you haven’t experienced it, then I strongly recommend taking the time to do so. Enjoy. • Into The Atmosphere

A special thanks to Vice and The Creators Project for filming an awesome behind the scenes video and finally letting me tell my story about my learning disability and how art has helped me find my path in life. You can check out the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxxV5mIcI9E& *The "3 Suns Rising" In 2 of the Milky Way clips are off shore oil rigs.* “Into The Atmosphere,” is my tribute to the state of California and the beautiful deserts, mountains and coastlines that exist there. This video showcases a variety of national/state parks as well as less recognized natural areas. The video also focuses on clouds, fog and interesting atmospheric conditions. Although California is known for blue sunshine skies, seeing a colorful storm cloud over Half Dome or an incredible sunset at the La Jolla Coves is really a sight to see. The goal of this video is to show these environments in their best possible light. Living in California all my life, I had as much time as I needed to really capture the essence and beauty it provides. This video was an ongoing project for about a year with an estimated 75,000 images taken, and about 12,400 made it into the 3.5 minute piece. My Grandmother Alice Harpin passed away during the last two weeks of shooting this video. The film is dedicated to her memory. Without her and the love of my family this video would not have been possible. To create this video there were many nights sleeping outside, and many days spent in the wild to embrace the environment and get to know the surroundings. There is a common misconception about Timelapse shooters that we quickly set up cameras and go sleep in the car for hours at a time, which is far from the truth. We are constantly hiking heavy equipment through dangerous areas and spending time camping in uncomfortable situations, I love it and wouldn't trade it for anything else. Some of the locations are Mono Lake, Anza Borrego Desert, Alabama Hills, Trona Pinnacles, Big Sur, Mount Laguna, Santa Maria, Yosemite, Gaviota, The Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, La Jolla Coves, Santa Ynez, the San Francisco Coast, and the Santa Barbara Mountains. • The Fred Rubble by Conner Coffin

        02:52

        from CI Surfboards Added 195K 120 3

Model Description “The Fred Rubble is actually quite a bit different than my other boards. It has a lower entry rocker and a wider outline. It has more volume than a Proton, but it isn’t really short and chunky like a Dumpster Diver. It’s just a fun board for waves from waist high to a little over head. I’ve been riding mine two inches shorter than my standard shortboard and 1/4 inch wider. For example, my standard shortboard is a 5’11″ x 18 3/8″ x 2 3/16″ Proton and I ride my Fred Rubble as a 5’9″ x 18 5/8″ x 2 3/16″. So I’d recommend for you a 5’11″ if your normal board is a 6’1″. – Connor Coffin Features single to double concave and comes standard in a squash tail. Experience Ridden by Conner in all conditions, from low tide Rincon and dumpy HB, to the fat faced mushy stuff. The wide point is forward to skate over flat sections but with more tail kick than a Flyer so it stays tight when turning hard in the pocket. Dane claimed best turn of his life on this board in the Rip Curl Search Puerto Rico contest in 2010. Super spicy and the perfect board to fill the gap between your shortboard and your Dumpster Diver. IDEAL WAVE SIZE Waist high to a little over head

        • Kelly Slater on the Semi Pro at Rincon

          01:48

          from CI Surfboards Added 147K 155 1

Kelly Slater talks about the Semi Pro... MODEL DESCRIPTION Taking his favorite aspects of the Tangent and Proton, Kelly designed the Semi-Pro on the computer from start to finish. Riding it to three WCT wins and a 10th world title, his design proved itself as the ultimate all-around shortboard. The Semi-Pro should be ridden shorter than usual: Kelly likes to ride them with his normal dims but his same height (5’9”). This shorter rail allows for his tight signature arcs in the pocket. Deep single concave make the board work best on rail, and ample rocker allows for deep gouging carves. With the wide point 2 inches behind center and increased nose-width, this board still handles mushy days. The Semi- Pro is changing the way professional surfers ride their boards. WAVE HEIGHT GUIDELINES Waist-high to well overhead.

Hurricane Marie brought an unusual summer swell to Santa Barbara, August of 2014. It was an early morning filled with barrels, brutal falls, and hoots and hollers. The wave of the day that Gabe Venturelli tamed is definitely one to remember. Film & Edit by Tony Modugno Music: The Growlers - Barnacle Beat
