Here I show how to curve the leaves of trees generated with the Sapling addon for Blender. To achieve this result i use the "Uv and Edit Mode selection in sync" to select the leaves' middle cut and then with the Individual origin movements along Normals I curved in the same time every leaf I show this technique with rectangular leaves but it works also with exagonal ones More info at http://blenderprops.altervista.org Thanks for watching!

Rushes CG Commercials were approached by M&C Saatchi and production company Great Guns, to complete the post production for a campaign of six separate Daily Mail commercials. Within these films a number of complex CG and compositing challenges had to be met. For the “Money Mail” film Rushes had to design and build an oak tree, starting from a small shoot, breaking through the shiny studio floor and growing money instead of leaves as it progresses to its full majesty. Head of CG Commercials Andy Hargreaves says, “To achieve such a huge task I decided it was best to break it down into a smaller series of constituent parts. Having blocked out an animatic with Callum early on I knew what the various stages would be and where they would appear in the edit. I then delegated each of the technical challenges from creating the final oak tree in all its glory, populated with thousands of 10 pound notes, down to the delicate intricacy of a single note growing and blossoming. To achieve the effect of the branches growing I first plotted the shape of the tree using NURBS curves and then wrote a series of MEL scripts which allowed be to extrude polygonal branches, with a continuous UV set, along them. The scripts also generated custom animatable attributes for me to control the root and tip thickness, speed of growth and twist of each branch to give the maximum naturalism. It was then simply a case of bringing the constituent parts together and making them look fantastic!” This highly complex series of shots took over seven weeks to complete.
