                      Téa Braun, our Alumna of the Year for 2014, is an international human rights lawyer who graduated with an LLM in International Human Rights Law from Essex in 2005 and was a Chevening Scholar. She has worked to tackle discrimination against women, the girl-child, indigenous peoples and sexual minorities. In 2012, she took up her current position as Legal Director of the Human Dignity Trust in London. Téa is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association, which promotes the rule of law across the Commonwealth, a former member of the Editorial Board of the Commonwealth Human Rights Law Digest, and was recently recognised by the Law Society of England and Wales as a ‘Legal Hero’ for her work championing the human rights of sexual minorities globally.
