Growing up in the wild hills of the Pacific Northwest, it seems like SunRay was always building something. His favorite source of inspiration and materials is the woods around him, "God's Hardware Store" as he calls it. When working on a project it is not uncommon to see him pick up a saw and head off into the woods looking for the right piece of wood to present itself. If he says anything, he'll mumble "I'm going shopping." Check out more of SunRay's work here: www.sunraykelley.com Filmed by Gary Tyler Mcleod & Austin Will Edited by Gary Tyler Mcleod About the "Inspired By..." video series: The Pacific Northwest is overflowing with creatives. Everyone from artists and musicians to engineers and architects call Portland home. Immersed in this culture of thinkers and makers, the team at Shwood is constantly drawing inspiration from the artisans that surround us. The "Inspired By..." video series is intended to share some of Shwood's daily inspiration with others around the globe.

If the Ocean is a reflection of us, as humanity, are we happy with what we see? I invite you to follow me beneath the looking glass… These will be non-scientific observations of a wild, wonderful world that is being dramatically altered by our every day choices. every time you look in the mirror, ask yourself, were as many of those choices good for the Ocean (and the planet at large) as could have been? Did i use use reusable, did i recycle, did i do the best i could, and how can i do better tomorrow? Can I fix what has come before? Can I at least try? I know that ‘fixing’ the damage that has already occurred is probably not entirely possible, but we can try, at very least we can limit our continuing contribution, at very best make an impact on that which has come before... (Proactive Reclamation) By documenting and sharing the underwater world i hope to expand peoples awareness… People protect what they love… ...but they must know it, to love it. for more information: ljjames@me.com btlgproject.com Filmed with a Sony CX500 in Light & Motion Stingray + housing Dual SOLA2000 lights on ULCA arms Video Diver Laura James using ISC Megalodon CCR Scooter : Halcyon HDV T16 (so that we could spend more time at depth) Huge thanks to my dive buddy Dave Stucki Music: M83 - Where the Boats Go

Social media is used to connect but concurrently serves as a disconnect from society outside of the virtual world. In Listen and Repeat, a modified megaphone uses text to speech capabilities to recite tweets composed with the tag ‘nobody listens’ from the social media website Twitter. The megaphone has been installed on a mountain in Washington and dictates tweets to an audience of trees. part of a series of work called "Interconnected Strategies to Disconnect" http://rachelknoll.com/
