Band of Brothers is a 2001 American war drama miniseries based on historian Stephen E. Ambrose's 1992 non-fiction book of the same name. The executive producers were Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, who had collaborated on the 1998 World War II film Saving Private Ryan. The episodes first aired in 2001 on HBO. They still run frequently on various TV networks around the world. The series won the 2001 Emmy and Golden Globe awards for best miniseries. The series dramatizes the history of the "Easy" Company (part of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division) from jump training in the U.S. through its participation in major actions in Europe, and up until Japan's capitulation and war's end. The events portrayed are based on Ambrose's research and recorded interviews with Easy Company veterans. The TV series took literary license, adapting the recorded history for the purposes of dramatic effect and series structure. All of the characters portrayed are based on members of Easy Company. Some of the men were recorded in contemporary interviews, which viewers see as preludes to each episode. The men's identities are not revealed until the finale. Band of Brothers is a dramatized account of "Easy Company" (part of the 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment), assigned to the United States Army's 101st Airborne Division during World War II. Over the course of ten episodes, the series details the company's exploits during the war. Starting with jump training at Camp Toccoa, Georgia, Band of Brothers follows the unit through the American airborne landings in Normandy, Operation Market Garden, the Siege of Bastogne, and on to the war's end. It includes the U.S. taking of the Eagle's Nest at Obersalzberg in Berchtesgaden and refers to the surrender of Japan. Major Richard Winters (1918–2011) is the central character featured, shown working to accomplish the missions and keep his men together and safe. While the series features a large ensemble cast, each episode generally focuses on a single character, following his actions during certain events (for example, the Siege of Bastogne or Operation Market Garden). As the series is based on historic events, the fates of the characters conform to the persons they are drawn from. Numerous characters die or sustain serious wounds, some of which lead to survivors' being sent home; in other cases, soldiers recover under treatment in hospital and can rejoin their comrades on the front lines. Their experiences and the moral, mental, and physical hurdles they must overcome are central to the story. A Blu-ray Disc version of Band of Brothers was released on November 11, 2008 and has become a Blu-ray Disc top seller, though many video enthusiasts contend that the HD DVD version features superior visual quality due to the presence of digital noise reduction on the Blu-ray release. http://www.amazon.com/Band-Brothers-Damian-Lewis/dp/B00006CXSS

current project I started this project in cooperation with the maltese non-profit, non-governmental organisation Flimkien Ghal Ambjent Ahjar. I interviewed older Maltese in their living rooms and asked them about their memories of the war, when they where children. Malta was one of the most bombed places in Europe during the second world war. The people had to starve and their most feared enemy were the Germans. Beside that, for those who were children during that time, the bombed places were their playground too.

Director: Tsui Hark Tsui Hark is a dazzling cinema stylist, an irreverent re-inventor of traditional genres. In The Taking of Tiger Mountain, he reworks the war film, portraying the complex standoff, then battle, between a Communist cadre and warlords propped up by Nationalist forces towards the end of World War II. Inspired by a Mao-era "model opera" to Communist ingenuity and bravery, Tsui deploys eye-popping 3-D effects and ingenious CGI to retell this story as sly political thriller and contemporary action extravaganza.

In From Exile to Restoration, Australian author Kelvin Crombie, together with Israeli academics, the grandson of a hero of the Beersheba "Charge", and British and American churchmen, presents the story of these Jewish, Christian and geo-political factors which intertwined to lead to the modern restoration of Israel. As Cyrus, the King of the ancient Persian Empire first restored Israel after the exile to Babylon, so the British Empire became the modern day "Cyrus" to restore Israel after the second exile across the world. From Exile to Restoration is the sister film to The Destiny of Britain and prequel to The Forsaken Promise.

Anemone is a short film shot on Nov 2014. It is a story about a girl who became a sex slave during the Second World War. Also, it was a sad relationship between mom and son, who had to be separated because of the situation they had. Most of film set on 1944. We had to build the set for 1944. As Anemone is low budget indiie-short film, WE had to build the set. Beside professional production designer Tommy Janulis and lead carpenter Shaun Orbiu, lest of construction crews were Director, Producer, Gaffer, and Grips for Anemone. I really appreciate everyone's support. Also, I'd like to share the moment, how non-trained set constructors, but artists created amazing set! Please enjoy the video. www.brokendreams.eu After a dramatic accident, an old Dakota tells her remarkable life story, hoping she can still play a meaningful role in life. Broken Dreams is the remarkable life story of a unique airplane that was supposed to be used for the musical Soldier of Orange in the Netherlands. But everything turned out different than planned. On Friday the thirteenth, August 2010, this particular Dakota was involved in a terrible accident while being transported on the road. This incident is used as a starting point for the plane herself to reflect upon her life and the part she played in history. By now she is a fragile ‘grand old lady’. Plane lovers will confirm this; a plane is always referred to as being female - especially a Dakota, which is elegant and stylish. Built by so-called Rosie the Riveters in Oklahoma, USA, she was once considered Queen of the sky and flew at the end of World War II for military purposes. After the war she was used to fly just about anything; from passengers and airmail to day-old chicks, experiencing many great adventures along the way. She was also hugely popular in museums, until the day of the accident. Will there still be a future for this plane or has her story come to an end... The documentary (52 min.) was directed by Suzanne van Leendert. The DVD (PAL and NTSC versions available) contains deleted scenes and extra information. Subtitled in Dutch, English and French. It can be ordered via www.brokendreams.eu. The Broken Dreams book (written by Suzanne van Leendert & Barry McCabe) can also be ordered there. The book includes many photos and additional stories. www.facebook.com/BrokenDreamsDocumentary Twitter: BrokenDreams@C47Lifestory www.brokendreams.eu
