Absences is a series of electronic interventions in natural environments. Autonomous electronic devices are deployed within various ecosystems in the manner of ephemeral experiments. They interact with the surrounding elements through different relational strategies. Taking shape at the frontier of electronic art and environmental art, it proposes a meditation on solitude and association, natural and artificial, interaction and contemplation. Interactive Sound Installation by Kadet Kuhne Presented at the de Young Museum as part of Volume's re/Visioning the Collection Kadet's interactive sound installation creates a sonic representation of movement in the surrounding space, just as Josiah McElheny's "Model for Total Reflective Abstraction" sculpture was designed to create numerous visual reflections of its surroundings. The sounds triggered are illustrative of the chosen art piece; in this case the samples are resonant, vibrant and spherical to represent how McElheny's mirrored objects might sound if they could actually emit tones. Not only will spectators have an experience of seeing themselves and the gallery's artworks in the reflections, but also of hearing themselves in the space as if reflected off the sculpture itself. http://www.volumeprojects.org

Abstraction by LASALLE College of the Arts. Inspired by Theatre de Complicite’s A Disappearing Number, this performance installation evokes themes of spirituality, logic and passion with a contemporary twist, fusing real-time technology with live performance. My role in this production is to collaboratively within our team of 3, create a series of interactive and non-interactive projections that will strive to create an immersive environment for viewers to enjoy the play in, which also serve to support in the conveying of the themes present in the various scenes More often than not, visuals for a theatre performance are projected on a two dimensional surface however, in accordance with the 3D structure that has been conceptualized and created for this project, which will be in the centre of the performance space, the projections will be mapped to the shape of the structure in a 360 degree manner with the use of two projectors. This is so that audiences from any angle will be able to be immersed in the mood we are trying to convey and so that the projections will provide for a dynamic stage performance where media is at one with the performance of the actors.
