1. Project Blessing 2015

    from Stanwich School Added 1 0 0

In June 2015, a group of sixteen Stanwich students and alumni traveled to Cybatanzit, Rwanda, along with Upper School science teacher Shaun Fletcher to advance the school’s involvement in Project Blessing. During their 12-day service learning trip, the students visited a genocide memorial museum, built and painted classrooms, distributed supplies to local villages, went on a safari, and taught at Kigali City School. Project Blessing is the school’s long term initiative that includes the creation of a water system and a school in Cybatanzit, a rural Rwandan community. Since 2008, Stanwich students have raised funds for the local villagers to purchase the mountain the village sits upon, built a freshwater well, created waste management and irrigation systems, and built a three-classroom nursery school and playground.

    • How Can You Show Aloha?

      from The Wonderment Added

In the Wonderment Path: "How Can You Show Aloha?", our friend Keko'opono from Hawaii tells us about Aloha and how we show it. "When we show Aloha for something we take care of it. We feel a responsibility to it--whether that is the land we live on, the vast waters, mountains or forests that surround us, our friends or our family members. The things we love, the things we are proud of, the things that define the culture to which each of us belong, are all things for which we should show Aloha." Check out this Path on the Wonderment and see and share with kids and classrooms all over the world how they are showing Aloha! https://thewonderment.com/path/aloha/
