1. A Band Called Death Trailer

Before Bad Brains, the Sex Pistols or even the Ramones, there was Death. Formed in the early '70s by three teenage brothers from Detroit, Death is credited as being the first black punk band, and the Hackney brothers, David, Bobby, and Dannis, are now considered pioneers in their field. But it wasn’t until recently — when a dusty 1974 demo tape made its way out of Bobby’s attic nearly 30 years after Death’s heyday — that anyone outside a small group of punk enthusiasts had even heard of them. Equal parts electrifying rockumentary and epic family chronicle, the story of Death is one of brotherly love and fierce, divinely inspired expression. “A moving testament to the enduring power of family ties and groundbreaking music.” The Hollywood Reporter “A Band Called Death is an incredibly thoughtful and compelling film, one of the best music documentaries to come out in years.” Twitch Film

    • Matlock, Phantom, Slick - Happy (Pharrel Williams) DEBUT VIDEO

These guys need little introduction. Between them, Glen Matlock, Slim Jim Phantom and Earl Slick, amongst numerous collaborations at the hipper, harder hitting end of the musical scale, have performed with the likes of the Sex Pistols, Iggy Pop, John Lennon, David Bowie and The Stray Cats. Becoming firm friends over the last decade through working on various projects, they reconvened in early 2014 to work on some of Glen’s new material which was recorded upstate New York. Realising the chemistry clicked big time, they have decided to take the fruits of their labours on to the stage and in a never ending quest for more airmiles, are setting off on a short run of UK shows this coming August. What with Slick’s scintillating solos, Phantom’s pukka paradiddles and Matlock’s meaty melodies, their set promises to be a hot bed of happening. The guys, aided and abetted on bass by somebody who is no stranger to the dusty end of his guitar’s neck, Stereophonics’ producer Jim Lowe, the fellers will be tearing through a toe tapping set of top material that while not guaranteed to cater for all tastes, will certainly appeal to the particularly picky spectator. This is special – miss it at your peril. Video by Paul Cockcroft - www.cockcraft.tv Like the page on Facebook to keep up to date - www.facebook.com/GlenMatlockOfficial

Over the summer of 2013, I storyboarded, choreographed and directed my first video, a "video-set-to-music" of Siouxsie and the Banshees' cacophonic B-side "Throw Them To The Lions". The song is my personal favorite of the Banshees' B-sides, and I figured a video was due, to highlight the song's high energy and macabre lyrics. The visual style of the video draws inspiration from classic "gialli" (Italian pulp-fiction/horror films), namely "Suspiria" (1977), directed by Dario Argento. The costumes and makeup for Siouxsie/The Lion (played to feline perfection by my good friend Natalia Viteri) were designed by me, and Natalia put her makeup and costume artistry to work to create an uncanny Siouxsie look. This video could not have been made without the help of Greek Cultural Center of Astoria, which allowed us to use their studio space, the Macaulay New Media Lab, whom lent us their lights, as well as my good friends who willingly offered to star/assist on set. Enjoy! Elliott Arnold is the man! He rides fast and hucks shit! He is unpredictable but always reliable! Hes a perfect example of how a rider should conduct themselves. Always having fun and always tearing it up in the streets. This guy is the perfect addition to the California based AO team and we look forward to having him around for quite some time! For this edit I wanted to keep it a bit raw so I let loose on the color grading and gave it some real grit feel with the oversaturated blacks and tones. Elliott is by far one of the funnest dudes to film with so I wanted to show that in this edit! Hope you lot can enjoy! - Max Manning Filmed & Edited By: Max Manning
