    • Tea Party Fort Lauderdale Press Conference: Stop the Lies, Race-Baiting, & Evil Rhetoric

This past Saturday, September 3rd, 2011 2:00 PM, “On-The-Corner” of Oakland & Federal, as these Tea Partiers do every weekend since 2009, they exercised their right of free assembly. The Tea Party Fort Lauderdale held a special press conference to push back against the disturbing bigoted comments that several members of the Congressional Black Caucus accused Tea Party Members in general. This week’s theme and press conference was termed: “Stop the lies, race-baiting, & rhetoric” Tea Party Fort Lauderdale, America’s longest running tea party, and home of District #22 Congressman Allen West, has had enough of the over-the-top lies and hatred being spewed by the Congressional Black Caucus, and from the left in general. From Barack Obama's disparaging remarks describing the tea party, Joe Biden calling the Tea Party terrorists, Maxine Waters telling us “the Tea Party can go straight to hell”, and Rep. Andre Carson who said conservative members of Congress would “love to see us [blacks] as second-class citizens,” and “some of them in Congress right now of this tea party movement would love to see you and me . . . hanging on a tree.” Barack Obama said that the unanimous House vote against the Recovery Act ‘set the tenor for the whole year’: ‘That helped to create the tea-baggers and empowered that whole wing of the Republican Party to where it now controls the agenda for the Republicans.’ Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) has falsely accused the Tea Party of having ties to the Ku Klux Klan. Speaking at the NAACP convention, she said: “All those who wore sheets a long time ago lifted them off to wear Tea Party clothing.” Of course these are all lies. The Tea Party Fort Lauderdale, the longest running Tea Party in America, are made up of Hispanics, Asians, Black, White, Christians, Jews, and many others from all over the world. "Let us all remember who the real enemy is. The real enemy is the Tea Party," South Florida Rep. Frederica Wilson, D-Fla., said at a Miami town hall, according to The Hill. "The Tea Party holds the Congress hostage. They have one goal in mind, and that's to make President Obama a one-term president." (She got that part right)!! “This is a tough game. You can't be intimidated. You can't be frightened. And as far as I'm concerned — the Tea Party can go straight to hell,” said Maxine Waters, D-Calif., said at a town-hall-style meeting in California. During a speech at a recent caucus event in Miami, Indiana Democrat Rep. Andre Carson said conservative members of Congress would “love to see us [blacks] as second-class citizens,” and “some of them in Congress right now of this tea party movement would love to see you and me . . . hanging on a tree.” As of August 31, none of the Big Three networks evening programs on Tuesday- ABC's World News, CBS Evening News, or NBC Nightly News- covered Rep. Carson's snipe at the Tea Party. The following morning, none of their morning show covered it either. By contrast, these networks were quick to go after Rep. Joe Wilson after his infamous "you lie!" outburst at President Obama on September 9, 2009. Within 24 hours, then-CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric highlighted the "congressman last night calling a President an outright liar to his face" and stated that this was "just the latest indication of how ugly the debate over reforming health care has gotten." On NBC Nightly News, Brian Williams trumpeted "the outburst heard 'round the world," as correspondent Kelly O'Donnell played up the "stunning outburst" and the "fit of anger" displayed by Rep. Wilson. ABC World News's tease of their story on the Republican's outburst used an almost identical line: "the shout heard 'round the world." One wonders how long it will take ABC, CBS, or NBC to cover Rep. Carson's smear, if at all. Rep. Allen West considers quitting Congressional Black Caucus: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0811/62414.html CBC brushes Allen West’s threat to reconsider his membership aside: http://hotair.com/archives/2011/09/01/cbc-brushes-allen-wests-threat-to-reconsider-his-membership-aside/ Tea Party Fort Lauderdale, America’s longest running tea party, and home of District #22, Congressman Allen West, has had enough of the over-the-top lies and hatred being spewed by the Congressional Black Caucus, and from the left in general. They held a press conference denouncing the racist comments of certain members of the Congressional Black Congress. Even in their anger one can notice the respect and civility when this past Saturday the diverse group of Floridians united to push back against the dark spirited words of ignorant elected officials.
