Here's a short video I made of 4 training dives at Holborough Lake, Kent and Stoney Cove, Leics last week where I tested my Polar pro magenta filter and my UK eLed video lights on my new video tray. All in all I was very impressed with the effect I got. I'm looking forward to making some wreck videos in the deep off the coast so keep an eye on this page!!! Filmed on hero3 with magenta filter and with lights and on the hero2 with lights. Depth range was 3-36m in bright ambient light to total darkness. Slightly bitty water but that couldn't be helped. Water temp at both sites was between 3-5 degs Celsius!!! Many thanks to Mooning Martin and Heroic Nathan for stooging for me.

A short film following Suunto ambassador Manuel Bustelo, on his diving experience underwater on Koh Tao, Thailand. Diving everyday for a week, Manu asked me to do some photography promoting the Suunto D6i all black diving computer. I offered to do more than just photos, and make a film documenting the underwater experience of his short stay on Koh Tao. This is the result. 5 minute tour of the Kudhimaa Wreck, a 52 metre long cargo ship which was sank next to the Machchafushi resort to provide a fantastic artificial reef. The ship lies in 30m of water and has a large variety of marine life including lion fish, glassfish, blue-fin trevallies, flutfish and surgeon fish. The ship has large openings cut to allow easy access to the inside of the ship. Visibility in the Maldives is amazing, the water is warm and the abundance of marine life amazing. If you like scuba diving, make sure you visit the Maldives! We stayed on the Whitesands resort and dived with http://www.euro-divers.com (highly recommended!)

Fogged is a short film assembling footage shot across Cornwall with words and sounds, achieving abstraction through a curious weather phenomenon. This footage was originally intended to be part of a music video, but upon arriving in Falmouth to get shots of the town and docks, thick fog enveloped the whole of Cornwall altering plans. Arella - the young niece of my friend - eponymously described the situation: "We got fogged." About a month earlier I had been looking at the ocean out of a plane window and thinking about theistic-focused religious belief in the modern world. This 'fogged' footage seemed to fit into this theme and a narrative for the edit emerged. Shot with the BMCC 2.5k EF with 10-20mm Sigma.

This short video is a diving experience that was done by SCUBA Divers out of Dip 'N Dive (www.dipndive.com) in Buffalo, NY. The Dean Richmond was a 238' twin screw steel over wood steamer, built at Cleveland Ohio in 1864. She would be the fourth Great Lakes ship tho carry the name, and the fourth to meet her fate on the lakes. She left Toledo, OH on Friday the 13th, 1893 bound for Buffalo loaded with nearly 200 tons of pig zinc, barrels of flour and other dry goods. The weather was bad from the start, but the Dean pressed on through the night. By morning, the winds were gale force and towering waves were battering the ship, but the Dean pressed on throughout the day, losing both masts and one stack in the process. By evening, both her stacks were down and she was observed rolling in the troughs about 40 miles off Buffalo. A short time after midnight, the Dean Richmond rolled and sank, taking with her the captain, 18 crew members and one unlucky woman. For years following the loss of the Dean Richmond, the stories of untold treasures spread. It was rumored she was carrying more than zinc, some speculated a cargo of copper or even gold. She became the most sought after ship in Lake Erie, and was one of the most elusive wrecks, as well. Gary Kozak covered over 500 square miles in his search for the Dean, charting 28 new wrecks in the process. She was finally located and salvaged by Gary in 1984. Unfortunately, she held no treasure in her holds, only the zinc listed on her cargo manifest. She lies today in 115' of water off North East , PA. The ship is inverted but intact except for a hole used by the salvors for penetration. One of the propellers remains, the other has been removed. There is a large debris field, which contains many zinc ingots and several parts of the ship. Divers can expect visibility in the range of 20-60 feet, with bottom temperatures in the mid 40's.
