This is a short doc that I had the privilege of shooting for my friend, Stewart Schuster. To me, this short doc is what filmmaking is all about -- creating art with your friends while traveling to new cities, seeing new sights, and meeting new people. Synopsis: Alivia Foley is a painter, illustrator, and tattoo artist from Seattle, Washington. Her use of the internet and social media has helped her to build a base of customers and fans (as well as detractors). In this short documentary, Alivia discusses how she became a tattoo artist, how the internet allowed her to create a business at such a young age and how it continues to shape and influence what she does, and the difference between the way people perceive you by the things you post online and the reality of who you are. Photographed by Jeremy Adams Directed and edited by Stewart Schuster.

I also travelled with the film to Fespaco and screened at local schools. The film explores the socio-economic risk factors for HIV/AIDS such as prison, homelessness, homophobia and advocates for a comprehensive prevention model.
