        For people waging war on pain, consider this another weapon in the arsenal - an FDA-approved laser which uses swipes of light to promote healing. “So any acute inflammations, or even chronic things, it can help by stimulating the healing process. Stimulating your cells to do what they’re supposed to do and hopefully help get rid of your pain,” says Dr. Mark Farmer, who is an orthopedic surgeon on medical staff of Lee Memorial Health System. But the laser is no miracle cure. It doesn’t fix mechanical issues such as tears, bone breaks and joint damage. Where it excels is in reducing swelling and inflammation; giving the body a break from pain. “I’m a big believer if we don’t have to do surgery on people and there are other ways to treat people, they’re better off. This is something that allows us to not put medication into people. Sometimes even avoid injections and sometimes even avoid an operation,” says Dr. Farmer. Treatment itself is quick and painless.                       This is a dumbbell "super shoulder sculpter." Any exercise can result in injury. To reduce the risk of injury, consult with your physician before attempting this, or any, exercise. 8 Steps to the "Super Shoulder Sculpter:" 1. Hold a set of dumbbells in your hands with arms by your sides, standing erect. 2. Perform a front shoulder raise to lift the bells to shoulder height. 3. Retract your scapula and flex your elbows to 90-degrees. 4. Pivot to turn the dumbbells towards the ceiling. 5. Press up. 6. Pivot to turn the dumbbells forward. 7. Extend the elbows to push the dumbbells forward. 8. Lower the arms straight down to starting position. Perform 8-15 repetitions. Rest, then repeat for a second set!
